Q: Does anyone who purchased this actually use it as the sundial? In otherwords, does it tell time accurately?

yes actually pretty accurate. you can set it with a watch turning it or set it to the direction comes with instructions. it creates a shadow to the numbers and that is how you read it kinda cool .. we have been having fun with these in the summer here for years hope this helps..

Q: Having a tree cut down & I'm leaving a 3-4 foot trunk. Thinking sundial might look nice on top. How much does it weigh & would it be safe on top?

I think the 3-4 foot expanse you have is too large for the 11 inch across sundial. Do not know the weight, very light. I love mine, it is on a pedestal birdbath base which is 12 inches around. Seems to have weathered the sun for three years or more. Love the color as well.

In centimeters, the triangle makes 3.5 x 4.5 x 6 cm. The side that rests on the sundial is the shortest side 3.5 cm. It is 4.5 cm tall. I don't have a protractor here at the house. I'm guessing it looks to be about 55°.
