GREATEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN..????
I love this book... I've read it and purchased the audio version. Todd Barry is my favourite comedian and i wish his podcast came back. I have terrible attention span and i could handle/read this book; it's short and to the point and well written/very funny.

Impressive debut from veteran American stand up
I loved this book. Barry manages to make the mundane reality of being a touring stand up in small town/city America incredibly funny and strangely gripping. It might be the least thrilling book I've read, but that doesn't stop it being a genuine page turner. It's very episodic with numerous short chapters that you could dip in and out of or read at random, but I read it on holiday in two or three longer sessions and found it really satisfying and enjoyable as straight-through read. Can't wait for the next book.

A very funny read.
I'm what you might call a "Todd Barry Super Fan". That's what I call myself, so I won't mind. I first saw Todd at Fun-Fun-Fun Fest in Austin in 2010(?). I mostly remember him mocking people in the crowd, giving a lot of s*** to the band doing sound check on the stage next to him, and bragging about how much money he was getting paid. I thought it was really funny. Then I listened to some of his stand-up albums, and when I heard his bit about throwing white guys with dreadlocks in prison, torturing them, and killing them... I was hooked. If you have not heard Todd's albums, give them a listen. You will like them, and you will laugh a lot, just like you will with this book. I don't trust people that don't enjoy Todd Barry's humor. His style is conveyed very well in this book. It's a fun, quick, enjoyable read. I had to slow down reading it so I could savor it - I didn't want it to end! I seriously thought it was that funny. I would limit myself to a certain amount of pages every night, going out with a 'laugh out loud' moment that I would ride into a sleep. As I got closer and closer to the end, and was getting to that feeling of sadness that it was actually going to be over, and I would have to go back to not being a book reader(books are boring..). And then I realized I could read it again!. Love you Todd!

Simply Astounding
It shouldn't be possible for writing to be this funny. Todd Barry has written the perfect comedy memoir. Truly, this is the pinnacle of the genre. But reading Todd Barry's prose was not without sadness. Deep down, I knew that every hilarious word took me closer to the end of the book and so to the end of my unbridled mirth. All in all, a great book. I eagerly await Mr Barry's next literary venture.

Todd has been one of my favorite comedians, and in my opinion
Todd has been one of my favorite comedians, and in my opinion, one of the best active comedians, for a very, very long time. So, when his egregiously titled book "Thank You for Coming to Hattiesburg: One Comedian's Tour of Not-Quite-the-Biggest Cities in the World" came out, I knew I had to read it right away. I was not disappointed. As a fan of his comedy, one can read the entire thing and imagine him telling you the stories in his plodding, deliberate tone, which consequently caused me to laugh out loud on several occasions. If you are a fan of Todd, definitely read this, but there is a lot of meat on the bone for general fans of stand-up comedy or just fans of road diaries (if there is such a thing). A fun read and well-written (as to be expected with Todd's ever-present OCD), which is a nice change from other memoirs of super mega stars (I'm looking at you, Andy Warhol).
