Q: Can I use this in the rock tumbler as a 5th stage. The rocks are smooth but dull.

Unfortunately, i purchased this product for the restoration of a large oval white marble table top - using it with water produced a satiny sheen on the marble top - but, i cannot guess what it would do to tumbling rocks. Sorry not to be more helpful - swan

Q: I have used this on opals and I liked the result, but now I'm wondering - will it work to remove scratches from sunglasses?

I am using this as the final polish on jade (nephrite). The label says it's fine enough (0.3 microns) but I am occasionally surprised by it dulling the finish from the previous 3 micron step. "Linde A" was a trademarked product of Union Carbide and it is long gone. Everything sold now is generic aluminum oxide powder with unknown quality assurance on particle size or purity. OTOH, my mixed results may be my technique. I'd test it on a piece of plastic or glass before experimenting on an expensive pair of sunglasses. See what it does on your headlight lens.

Don't mix abrasive powders. Aluminum oxide is much harder than tin oxide.
