They Fit well!
The stretchy could be a little more but overall he has room to grow in them and be comfortable... I got shorts in the size he is in now and they fit perfect and you can put a belt to complete the look, but the pants I went a size bigger because I felt comfortable with that once I received the shorts... great decisions... I feel like the clothes I got him will last all year, I did size 6 in shorts and 7 in pants... the pants run a little long but all I do is roll it under once or twice and he is good to go... I'm expecting him to grow in them over the school year... happy with the buy....

It will do
These pants are comfortable to my son however they were a bit longer than expected. My husband had to take them to get hemmed and I was hoping they had adjustable waist band but it didn't. Otherwise it was a decent buy. He'll have these for a while.

Hook closure falls off in one washing
So disappointed with these. I bought three pair and each one had the hook closure come off with one washing. Nautica is typically a good brand, but these pants should be made with a button instead. The hook closures are terrible.

Run small
These seem like really nice pants, quite soft and well made. I would say, though, that they run quite small. I tried size 14, my son’s usual size, and he couldn’t zip them. Then I ordered 16, and they’re still too small. They’re very nice if you’re willing to work to get the size right.

Slimmer style, clean cut.
Great pant - great quality, good price. This is our 5th year buying/wearing these. The double knee is a must for rowdy boys. He loves the hook/loop closure because it takes less time to fiddle with the buttons. This style pant seems to run a little slimmer. The 'slim' cut is very slim IMO. We also have the nautica with button closure - those tend to run larger and are much more roomy so they look a tad sloppy on my kiddo. These do have the waist adjustment tabs inside the waist band. These are a great cut for a tall, athletic build. If your kid is in the bean-pole /toothpick range try the slim. If he's not yet shot up in height and is a little thicker, try the button style.

Great fit might need a belt.
It's a great fit my son has a small waste, so he needed a belt, but I had to buy one for his private school anyway.

Highly recommended school uniform pants
These pants are excellent where uniform pants are required for younger kids. They are pull on so younger kids do not need to button them. The fabric is twill. They are not scratchy and they are thick enough so they last longer. As all moms know usually school pants rip on the knee. For my son gymboree pants rip within 2 or 3 weeks, these last twice as long. They are also roomy so kids can comfortably sit criss cross apple sauce in the class room. The waist is not adjustable but they were a good fit for my son of average build (he is neither skinny or stoky). These are my favorite uniform pants.

Elastic waist but they look like dress pants
Finally found pants that my son and I don't disagree on! My son HATES it when his pants are baggy or gap at the waist. He is very slender and recently had a growth spurt, so most pants that fit him length wise are too big in the waist, and the pants that fit his waist only go to about mid-shin. These are definitely a little on the loose side, with plenty of room for him to grow "out" but they stay in place comfortably, and they have the look of proper button front pants with a belt loop, with the ease of an elastic waist.
