Heavy with smaller footprint
It has a small base/footprint. I believe this may have been designed to fit under a table with an umbrella post going through the table for additional support This works well for my stand-alone umbrella, as well. It held up well in a strong breeze. This base is made from cast concrete so it is super fragile. It will be OK as long as you do not drop it or bump it against hard objects. I ordered and returned two of these because they cracked or crumbled during shipping.

Good heavy product!
Corner was broken when I opened it, think it was delivery co that broke it, pretty loud thump when it got delivered to my front porch. Anyway, I don't know what I was thinking it was made out of when I bought it, don't think it was specific in the add. To be clear, it's made of concrete. That being said I have saved the broken Corner and will try to piece it back together somehow. Seller is great and shipping was fast!

fragile but well-designed
I wanted an umbrella base that would fit below my table. The table legs have a small space (about 15 inches) between them so those sitting around the table leaves room for people's knees. This is all well and good, but eliminated the possibility of getting a broader base. The first base I got was too large. I tried that base on the outside of the table since the umbrella tilts, but it simply would not hold the umbrella well. I reordered and got this base instead. More expensive, heavier, but more fragile. It was easy to tell that this base will easily fracture if not handled very carefully. Some have reported it arrived damaged. That was not the case for me. Mine arrived in perfectly good shape. It was easy to put together and with help from a friend, we went outside to set it up. The first thing we discovered was that the umbrella pole was too thick for the stem. However, the design is a good one. There are two plastic pieces that fit at the top of the stem. They fit inside each other and then into the stem. So, we removed the inside plastic piece and then the pole fit well. It was still a little loose, but the tightening of the screw made it ALMOST solid. The base, while heavy, is only 13.7inches in diameter. It was made to fit under the table, not to the side. So, with the umbrella pole going inside the hole in the middle of table and down into the base's stem, all seems well and good. If I were purchasing an umbrella base to go on the outside of the table, I would not choose this one, but one with wider dimensions. If I knew for certain that this stand would stand the test of time and weather, I would give it a rating of fives stars instead of four, but it just seems to me that the materials may not hold up that well. The description states the material used for the base is cast stone, which is simply a special form of concrete. Overall, it is not terribly attractive, nor is it unattractive. Sitting below the table, I doubt many will notice. But, I would store this base inside in the winter and be extremely careful when I moved it. Finally, it will be well worth your time to look up directions on how to care for and clean cast stone.

Do not buy these!
This is very small and came chipped in two. Burners. The umbrellas keep tipping over because it is not stable as a base.

Sturdy!
I purchased this for our patio umbrella that we use in a table set. It is very sturdy and heavy and a great value for the money. I saw many others that were a little more expensive, but this one works just fine. I like that it’s plain and simple too, no swirly fancy designs on it, just a solid piece of metal and flat and square. The color also matches the brown metal of the umbrella that I got just perfectly, not that that even matters because you don’t really see the stand under the table that it’s underneath, but it’s still nice that it goes well with the umbrella that I purchased from a different seller. It holds the umbrella nice and sturdy. It also arrived promptly. I definitely recommend this product.

Very sturdy and HEAVY!!
Wanted to add another umbrella to our deck, plastic stand filled with water didn't work well. Ordered this bruiser, so heavy my neighbor had to move it into place for me. Works amazingly well!

Does what it designed to do.
I wanted a sleek compact weight for my umbrella. The table it is under is small so I didn't want anything that was going to be cumbersome or get in the way. This is simple it works and I really like its simplicity.
