Was this actually written by Janet Evanovich?
I pre ordered this ages ago and have been looking forward to it. While I did enioy it, I am also a bit confused... Was this actually written by Janet Evanovich? The author voice just seemed a bit different and there were a couple of incidents that make me wonder especially. The first was that the name of the aunt that Joe inherited his house from has suddenly changed! Also, where the heck was Joe in this book? He barely showed up which was a shame and when he did, he 'bumped fists' with Ranger?! Ermmm.... Previously there's been a grudging respect on each side for the specific skills each one has, but interaction, especially around Stephanie has been a nod at the most as the two Alpha males battle with their egos. The fist bump had me totally thrown and pulled me right out of the story, as did the misnamed aunt. And while I love Lula, there was little too much in this book and very little everyone else. The characterisation felt kind of flat compared to the usual rounded, 'I know these people' feeling one usually has from these books. I did like Potts but as for the rest it was all just a bit odd and flat, which was a real shame. Something definitely a little off about the writing of this particular book.

Enjoyed this continuation of book 26
Can be read as a stand-alone, but this is really a continuation of book 26. Since Grandma was with her new husband when he dropped dead within hours of the wedding, the elderly mobsters that formed his circle are convinced Grandma knows the location of the keys he was holding and the code to unlock whatever it is they are all hiding.A lot of the book is taken up with Stephanie trying to keep Grandma out of the mobsters’ clutches whilst fitting in a bit of bail bond apprehension on the usual mix of bizarre absconders that populate Trenton. As with the previous book this seems more plot driven than recent books, rather than simply relying on food fights and car crashes to provide the entertainment. It also features very little Morelli and considerably more Ranger.Overall really enjoyed this continuation of the previous story arc.

Has Janet Evanovitch, become formulaic?
I haven’t read a Stephanie Plum book for a long while. So it was interesting to see how the author had developed the character. She hadn’t. I think I could have written the book myself as I seemed to be able to know what happened next. I am not really enjoying this book which is a shame as I did love these books for a long time when they were first written. However they appear to have become formulaic. There is only so many times you can read about this character, her disasters and her sex life and her friend and grandmother.

Stephanie "Treasure Hunter" Plum
Their past adventure is still ongoing as Stephanie and Grandma Mazur are after "Fortune and Glory" in the form of a treasure. They have the keys, now they only need the clues, figure out the clues and stay alive.Even though this book is part of a long series, it felt fresh. Stephanie is somewhat more mature, she seems more aware of her surroundings and of the people she can count on. I really enjoyed this Stepanie and even though the same giggles are there (car wrecks, grandma Mazur, Lula..), it felt "better". This adventure follows along the lines of Indiana Jones, and it was a pleasure to listen to (because Lorelei King is amazing).

Poor storyline - not worth reading
Paid £9.99 for the kindle - for a book that is probably the size of a child’s paperback - storyline poor I think Ms evanovich has over stretched the Stephanie Plum series - very disappointed

Who wrote this?
Love all Janet's, Stephanie Plum books...! But afew bits were slightly confusing! Firstly who is Aunt Ruth? In all previous books Morelli inherited his home from his Aunt Rose, but now it's Ruth! Was a very good read, but seems implausible that she would mix up the names on her 27th book. Maybe she is slightly bored with it. Personally I would rather she stopped the series then half heartedly write them. Always been interested in their meals... Why not a Mom and grandma muzur recipe book... 😂

Disappointed
Disappointed. Price is increasing without similar value in the book content. This was really part B of the 26 book. It’s getting too much of the same. No resolution to the Morelli/Ranger situation. She needs to find an end to this now.
