I’ve had the 10x13 umbrella just for a month, but had a 11 PurpleLeaf for several years. It broke due to high winds and user error :p but was still useable by a friend who lives in a less windy part of townThe size of the umbrella is fantastic. Both have smooth operating of the umbrella-opening and rotation mechanisms.A few weeks ago the handle mechanism (what raises/angles the umbrella) broke. At first I thought I could fix it, and took the handle apart. But a key piece was bentPurpleLeaf customer service was very responsive. They sent a video link with info on taking apart the handle. Then when I found the problem, they shipped a new handle to me without cost: China to USA via FedEx in 4 days. The new handle went on like a charm and we’re backing up and running. Thank you Tears for your customer support!I’ll update (either way) in a year or two about the longevity. Judging from my previous umbrella, I’m expecting several years of good use. Summing up: at this point quite happy with the purchase and customer serviceUpdate 9-12-23The handle again broke on this, same as before. The locking peg (that goes into the post and holds the umbrella at the desired angle) bent. Once again customer service was responsive and FedEx'd me two replacement locking pegs (it is a brown plastic piece [what you squeeze in the handle] that is riveted to a metal peg about 3 inches long).I am using it successfully WITHOUT having put the entire handle back because I anticipate the bending would happen again. As I told the company, they are using too soft a metal for these pegs: hence why they bend in reasonable wind gusts. But fundamentally the bent metal creates a problem for the handle assembly (which is designed to allow motion for the straight peg, not a bent peg) and not the actual locking function.The attached photo shows what it looks like. It is not too noticeable so I plan on continuing to use it this way, without the handle assembly. The piece I am using (in the photo) actually has a bent peg: the bend, as I said, doesn't affect function. Aside from this, happy with the umbrella

I bought the 12x9’ cantilever rectangular umbrella in the summer of 2022. This will be my go-to umbrella from now on. It’s beautiful, easy to maneuver, and it is well-built. I started with the 39” square base in 2022, and it was sturdy enough that the umbrella didn’t fly away or break in high winds, even when I forgot to lower it while out of town a few times during big storms.I had a handyman install the base into cement this past summer (2023), and I love that it gave me a few extra square feet in my small backyard. It raises and lowers smoothly, and the coverage is perfect. The base took a lot more cement than expected (instructions say 500 lbs, but we ended up using 800-900 lbs), but it has held up all summer and looks great. I’m sad I won’t be able to bring this umbrella with me when I move soon, but I’ll certainly buy a new one in the future if there’s a Black Friday/cyber Monday deal.The umbrella can be heavy to lift on your own- one side is way heavier than the other, making it difficult to place on the base solo, if you’re a short female like myself. I used a step stool to get it on the stand, but having a second person would be easy to manage it.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this umbrella before the Superbowl to provide another viewing area for my guest.I am very satisfied with this product. The price point to value of the umbrella is well worth the money.Assembly was easy. It arrived almost fully assembled except for a pin that needs to be installed.Btw, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE BASE IS NOT INCLUDED. PURCHASED SEPARATELY.The base came in two pieces that was easy to assemble and fill with water.The umbrella is beatuiful, great quality, sturdy and easy to deploy and break down.This priduct is heavy, definitely a two people lift to install on the base. Thank you.

We purchased the 13x13 umbrella and base for our new deck a few weeks ago. It looks and fits nicely, but we haven’t had a chance to try it yet because we are waiting for Spring to come! It seemed simple to handle when we assembled it and it’s very sturdy - we’ve had lots of stormy weather since we purchased them and they are holding up very nicely. The best part of our experience was the customer service - June and the Purple Leaf Team couldn’t have been more helpful and their response time to our many email exchanges was nothing short of stellar! We can’t wait to actually try out the umbrella and will post an updated review when we do…

I purchased the largest umbrella (10 x 13) they have for our new patio and bolted it to the patio rather than using a water filled base. It's easy to put up and take down and turn different directions. This thing is really well made, especially considering the price.Without the extra height provided by a weighted base I can't open the umbrella without it hitting the dining table so I have to rotate it away from the table, open it and then rotate it back over the table. I have the room to do this so it's not a problem. To achieve a 13' span the umbrella rods are very long and therefore hang down low when it's folded up. I doubt smaller size umbrellas hang low enough to be impeded by the table.Purple leaf does offer a base that can be set in concrete under pavers (which is what i have) but I just purchased stainless all thread and made my own base. It's hard to find the Purple Leaf base online but if you call them they will send you a link.
