Works exactly as advertised. They are very solid and thick, block all the sun and even better is I bought them specifically because I have a loud sound system that rattles my window. And now I can’t hear the window rattle anymore thanks to these curtains. Also helps dampen road noise. Worth the cost just for that aspect alone, and works way better than the cheaper competitors.

We bought a new house nearly 2 miles from the train tracks and thought we were safe from the noise. Once inside the BR, we were in for a rude awakening (literally and physically!). For some reason the trains blow the horns for over 3 minutes each time one passes, and that can ruin a nights sleep in a hurry. For over a year, we abandoned our master bedroom in favor of a smaller 'jack and jill' bedroom upstairs on the other side of the house away from the tracks. We didn't think we could ever sleep in that room without noise-cancelling ear plugs. Fortunately two things happened, #1) I changed mattresses and ended up standing the old mattress on its side between the bed and window. I couldn't believe that it made a difference, but it did. Inspired by that, I added the heaviest 4 ply version of these curtains, and it made it even better. Finally, I downloaded a white-noise app on my android that is somewhat tuned to the frequency of train horns (you can try white noise, brown noise, and every other 'color' of noise). All 3 steps were important, but I wouldn't have been happy with the final product without these heavy, noise blocking curtains! As for the curtains themselves, they are lovely (not that I care about looks, LOL), I used light blocking curtain rods so the curtains slide across the 'end pieces' to block more light. Colors are vivid and they look like they are made to last. Regardless, they work so well, I would buy more if they didnt last. As you can tell by the tenor of this review, I am thrilled with the curtains and consider them one of our best purchases of 2023.

I've had these a few months and they have been the best thick curtains I've used.I originally bought them to reduce noise for a room with a sliding barn door that's next to a louder area of the house and it has worked well for my needs. It doesn't block out all noise of course, but its noticeably more quiet than without them.I would recommend the curtains. I'm considering buying a couple more for even more sound reduction improvement.

I was looking for a good curtain to hang outside my nursery door to help dampen the sound. I must have tried 4 different curtains on Amazon and this one was the best. It is really thick so you will need a heavier curtain rod to support the weight of it. But it does the job! It also blocks the light and is made of a very soft fabric.

The curtains look nice, fabric is high quality, 100% black-out, but I was a bit disappointed they were not noise blocking and that was the feature I was looking forward to the most since I live by a busy road - some reviews mention noise reduction but I did not personally perceive any difference.

Definitely dulls the sound. Keeps AC in my office. Doesn't block sound completely but keeps the 'edge' of the noise off so it's not so noticable

These curtains work well for me as noise-blockers. (Since I purchased these curtains mostly for that purpose rather than to block out light, that is what I will talk about here.) They seem to block light well, but again, that wasn't my focus. I live on a noisy street, across from an elementary school playground, and near an above-ground subway line. I am planning to do some recording work in my bedroom, so I needed to make the space as quiet as possible. Honestly, I didn't have great expectations that these would be effective, and was worried about the heaviness of the fabric and how that would look. (I ordered the dark grey color.) But I am very pleasantly surprised and pleased at both how they look and how they work. The dark grey color is nice, and doesn't bother me. As for noise--the curtains do not block it out totally, but they make it sound very remote, like it's happening further away. Now, I am rarely aware of, or bothered by, the noises. (Obnoxious car horns and jackhammer work in the street is still going to be an issue, but still, these are certainly dampened from the previous noise level.) In general, I am very pleased with this purchase.

I could not write a higher review about these! The quality is stellar, I bought them for soundproofing and winterizing an older home that was not built very well in the 50s. The walls are thin, so it is cold or hot depending on the season and you can hear your next-door Neighbors conversations. Provided exactly what I needed, the soundproofing was instantaneously different! I no longer hear my neighbors doors from their car, slamming or people driving down the street or the walking of people with their family and animals. I have noticed a significant change in how my house stays warm, I’m really excited about them for the summertime too. I got the four layer ones. And they are from the ceiling to the floor 94 inches. They actually make my small house look larger on the inside as it draws your eye upward. They are made very well, thick and strong quality. They are expensive, but I am happy! Quality and elegant.

Got this to cut outside noise. I double-layered these curtains, and I am totally satisfied.

Compré estas cortinas porque prometían entre sus funciones la disminución del ruido. Ciertamente no esperaba un aislamienro total o una reducción significativa de ruido, sin embargo realmente no disminuye casi nada el ruido. Por ejemplo, sólo disminuye un sonido muy lejano o muy bajito. Los ladridos de perro o voces cercanas se oyen como siempre.Respecto al bloqueo de luz sí lo hace bastande bien, sólo que sí es necesario que las cortinas sean muy largas y estén lo más arriba posible de la ventana. Así bloquea casi por completo. En mi caso yo compré unas de puerta para una ventana de 1.50 y funcionaron muy bien.En cuanto a lo térmico, francamente no he notado la diferencia.No sé si las cortinas de dos capas tengan la misma función de bloqueo porque no las he probado, pero son más baratas que esta de tres que compré.
