Easy install.
Met expectations. Easier to set up than expected. Quiet. I just wish it locked securely in place once closed. I'd buy it again.

Beefy, commercial quality, smooth and quiet, but a challenge to install
From all aspects, this seems to be the Cadillac of gate openers. It's expensive, but once you examine it and use it, the price is probably not out of line.I put this on a single leaf 400lb residential drive gate that's about 11ft wide. My setup is push-to-open, which is not nearly as common as pull to open, but it works well. First gate opener, an Estate Swing ES300, became balky and finally failed after less than 3 yrs. It cost half as much as the Liftmaster, but was kind of junk. For a swinging gate, it just seems that you need a super-duty gate opener if you want it to last. I imagine this will. Two friends of mine have these and recommended it.I had installed the first opener DIY so knew the drill, I'm a welder, and the electrical was all in place. Still, this was time consuming. Fabricating and welding custom brackets, figuring out the wiring, wading through the long manual. At times it seemed designed to maximize contractor billable hours.Thing is, there are tons of options you can put on this like a pavement loop to sense cars, multiple keypads, solar power, magnetic locks, multiple safety sensors, dual openers, etc. If you're a gate contractor that installs these things daily, it's not a problem, after you install a few it will become routine. But if you've never done one, it's a hassle to figure it all out. I got quotes for this bought and installed for over $4,000 by gate companies, and that's not including the AC wiring. So the instructions are very much oriented to the contractor, not DIY. There's a huge wiring diagram for example, which I probably should have just ignored, not using any fancy extras. The control box is 4 times the size of the old one. I would advise you to download the manual in PDF form and study it before buying, which is what I did. That said, once figured out, if your install is simple like mine, it ends up being reasonably straightforward, and not that much worse than any other linear operator arm.Everything about this thing is quality. The operator is solid, all metal. The electronics are beefy. The programming is self evident, logical, and quick. The factory presets are well thought out. The action is smooth, powerful, and precise. The motor has TRUE full accel and decel smoothly from 0-100% speed, not the crummy 2 speed fake "accel" on my previous unit, which was jerky and bouncy. The gate seems to always stop very gently in the exact same spot, just kissing the stop. If you enjoy precision machinery, watching this unit in operation will make you smile. This will operate during a power failure with 2 large 12V gel cells included in the big control box. I would imagine that would last for days with no power. Batteries will probably need to be replaced after 5 or 10 years I suppose. Other than that I expect this thing to be trouble free for years.
