This bar fits great!
After looking at a lot of different engine bars, I went with this one after reading the reviews. I have a 2008 Yamaha Vstar Classic, and this bar fit perfect. Everything lined up when I installed it. I only had two do two things to the bike as I installed it. There was a little metal knob that slightly protruded in between the the top two holes where the top of the bar attaches. It took me about 5 minutes to grind it off. I painted the area before I put the bar on. It might have fit without grinding it down, but I wanted it to be super flush with the frame. The other thing I had to do was move the horn because it was in the way of the top of the bar. I used the same hole for the horn bracket as before. I just turned the bracket and moved it down a little as I added a slight bend to the bracket. Everything fits and looks great. The rubber foot rest do move if you turn them with your hand, and I will probably at different foot rests and lights late. These are definitely worth the price!

Definitely worth it
I was a tad nervous buying this. I mean, you look at any motorcycle shop or site online, getting one of these for $250 is a steal. However, I really did want an engine guard...crash bar...highway bar...whatever your flavor is, and $100 was within my 'give a S level'. The decent amount of less than deplorable reviews was a help. Being Amazon, the chances of getting one made from sheet metal was decent (lets face it, Amazon has a lot of junk for motorcycles on it). Time to roll the dice. What I got was a decently sized engine guard with pretty nice welds and decent thickness. In fact, riding with my brother-in-law this weekend, it was the exact same one that he has on his Fat Boy that came direct from Harley (except his is chrome). Unfortunately, I've had the need to use it several times and it has performed perfectly as expected. Yeah, the paint got scuffed and scratched...but that is why I got flat black...easier to clean up with a rattle can.Did it fit perfectly? No, but nothing that was hard to overcome. The top bolts when in fine, along with one of the bottom bolts. The other one was a tad low, and being that it certainly is beefy, I wasn't bending it into submission by hand. However, a couple of strokes on a floor jack and it went into place without a problem. No welding, cutting or significant modifications. Take your time, think before you do, and you should be fine. So, if I manage to mangle it without destroying the V Star I put it on (or decide I want chrome), would I buy it again? Absolutely! Without hesitation! Seriously, it is the exact same bar that Harley sold my Brother-in-law for a paycheck, except it is only $100.00...what is not to like. Well, my Brother-in-law is a tad pissed that he paid the Harley tax for his, but I certainly like mine.Personally, I don't care about the foot pads, but the Harley ones are loose, too...so, go figure. Get some glue if you don't like it (personally, I'd use Vulkem 116, but that's me). Finally, it was shipped with a significant mummy wrap of styrofoam and tape that was a pain to remove, but got to me without any scratches or scars.

Nice Product!
Easy install! Looks great, seems to be sturdy, only thing I'm not fond of is that the rubber foot rests twist and move while I'm riding with my feet up on them...So I'm installing foot pegs! That said, I'm pleased with these crash bars for my 2004 Vstar 650 Classic!Would recommend, bike looks great.

Product is not high quality
I would never purchase from this company. They shipped a mismarked defective product and want me to pay to return it.I would NOT recommend you purchase anything from this Chinese manufacturer

Perfect Fit
The previous reviews were very helpful and although the product description only shows fitment for 1997 to 2012 V-Star 650 custom, It fits my 2016 V-Star perfectly!

Crash bars worked for real
It is a quality product. Wish is was a little heavier gauge. Wife had an accident and it probably saved her ankle more severe damage.
