Noda Horo BT-200 Butter Case, Enamel, 7.1 oz (200 g), White, Made in Japan

I love the material and looks of this case, and shipment time was reasonable. However, the height of butter quarters in this country causes the wooden lid to touch the top of the butter stick unless you shave off the top, leaving a greasy, messy lid. I also am finding it very awkward to try to slice a nice pat of butter off the stick due to the height of the sides of the case, as opposed to the ease of doing this from a traditional flat butter plate with the domed cover. Would I recommend it or buy it again? Probably not.

Enamel is resistant to both heat and cold, so it is generally good material for food storage (basically anything you'd want to keep fresh and protect from air and light). This enamel butter case is good-looking and easy-to-clean. However, it is clearly designed for the Japanese specification/standard for butter products (I used this case for Japanese butter products when I was living in Japan), and thus its hight is slightly short for most American butter products. With this said, I now buy Kerrygold butter products (tasty Irish butter that you can buy in US), which fit nicely in this enamel case.

Beautiful butter dish with the simplistic Japanese design I wanted, but had to return because it did not fit the Kerrygold 8 ounce blocks of butter I usually purchase. The lid sat on top of the butter without closing all the way. Still high quality, just didn’t work for me because of the dimensions.

Love the shape and style, but it is lacking in function. I have to slice a stick of butter in half in order for the lid to fit.

Thought it was not worth the money.

The problem was the height of the butter dish. I had to slice the stick of butter horizontal for the white enamel lid to fitflat on the bottom. Disappointing for the cost.

It's silly to love a butter container but I do. It's heavy, well made and looks great on my counter
