short & sweet
Short and too the point. Felt like it definitely could’ve been expanded and explored the child’s transitions and life a little more.

An amazing "foster carer"
Having read several of Maggie's books I remain in awe of her. I am a seasoned mental health clinician with expertise in trauma. I always learn from Maggie. I disagree with one review that stated something similar to that she is trying to shock readers and is essentially blowing her own horn. I think the author portrays a child's journey from trauma, injury to the very fragile healing process. As I live in the states I am not familiar with the process in England. However it seems to me that Maggie is provides a therapeutic placement. She captures what it is like for a child coming into the system into a strange new place. I say Bravo to Maggie and all that she does to help kids. Her books address all types of sad and horrible things children go through from avoiding a forced marriage to a young child living in a substance abusing home. Thank you Maggie for what you are doing for children and sharing your pearls of wisdom.

Years
I shed tears as I read about the death of Paris's baby brother. At 5 years old, Paris gave complete care to Joel. She is found wandering the streets are night looking for food for her baby.

A small child with too much responsibility
This is an excellent read a very young girl in a bad situation makes very mature decisions. She has no idea what she does should not a child's responsibility. Sounds like a beautiful child who eventually will do all in life with lots of love. Maggie was so special for her.

Sad but true
Such a riveting story of poor little Paris. A drug addict mother and her crazy boyfriend nearly destroyed her world but daddy came to the rescue. Loved it except they mentioned several times about her eyes, sometimes being blue and the next green?

Heartbreaking
This was such a sad story. Why can't people that have children let them be children. Paris I am sure will be scared for life but I am sure her time with Maggie had a big influence.a must read

Short 90 page story at same price as 300 page story
While I enjoyed this book I didn't realise that it was a short story. The price did not reflect this. I feel a bit ripped off so I will be sure to check the amount of pages before I purchase from now on!!

Is It My Fault, Mummy?
This was such a sad read. Tragic that a young girl felt she was to blame for her baby brother death. I strongly recommend that people read this book.
