Cesspool is a terrific read!
If you want a book to keep you awake WAY past your bedtime, read CESSPOOL by Phil M. Williams! The story is unique and the tension mounts exponentially. The characters are believable and the action is surprisingly gritty. You can't miss with this book!

Another sleepless night getting to the answers. Worth every minute!
Phil M. Williams writes a tight, well-paced mystery with attractive, sympathetic protagonists and really deplorable bad guys. James Fish is a married middle school teacher in Fairfax, Virginia. He and his wife have drifted apart, his handle on his job is shaky because he doesn't teach only the curriculum as it is touted by the school principal, but also teaches life lessons to his students, and he is often late. Also, he is frustrated that he feels the economy is tanking in the US. and there is nothing he can do about it. Nobody can hear his words of wisdom. Then his wife dies in a car wreck with her lover and James laughingly quits his job.James drastically downsizes his life. He heads for the hills, literally. He finds a job at a small community college in the Appalachians, buys a one-room cabin without indoor plumbing, and plants a garden and fruit trees. Self-sufficiency is the key to his survival at this point. And hemeets people he feels comfortable with. Unfortunately, he is never comfortable with the local police...This is a tale I think you will enjoy. I sure did.

They were afraid, but did it anyway.
"They were afraid, but they did it anyway."A fantastic listen. It says it is narrated by the author and Grace Wright. But I think it was Tristan and Grace Wright. Whoever, it was done to perfection. I am sure they added to my enjoyment of this fantastic book. All the feels were so real. So intense and heartfelt. The story captured me from the sad start to the nerve racking end. A true edge of your seat thriller.About half way through I wanted to write the author and scream at him for putting me through this. I just knew he was going to break my heart. It was in the middle of the night and I just kept extending my sleep timer another 30 minutes. Ugh. But it is that good.If you don't mind grossest (?) and like to read about conquering bullies and corruption, one click this one.

Thoroughly enjoyable.
A little slow to develop, but it got so good I just didn't want to stop reading. I loved it. I will definitely be reading more of this author's works. I got the book for free, but I would gladly have paid for it. Thanks Mr. Williams.

Intriguing
Fast-paced and exciting. My emotions ranged from side-splitting laughter to tears of grief. The characters are well drawn and fleshed out nicely. I would definitely recommend “Cesspool” to anyone who has an imagination and can stay up late reading, a couple of nights in a row (you won’t want to put it down).

great story line
Well what a story this was , it held my attention all the way through. Lots of shocks and how to get around and fight the people who are desperate to frame you for everything.

Marvellous, just marvellous.
It's so refreshing to find a new author, well new to me. Truly one of the best books I've read for a time. Very good plot, meticulously programmed, characters too absorb, and a wonderful ending. I'll say it again, marvellous, read it and I promise you won't be disappointed.

The best book for years
This is the best book I have read for years. For context I read between 150 and 200 books a year. You hear it all the time that this book was unputdownable and kept me reading beyond my bed time, in this case it was true. I genuinely could not stop reading until I had reached the end. The characters, good and evil, are very well portrayed and are totally believable. The story line is interesting and again, sadly, all too believable. Saying much more without giving any pointers would be silly so I shall just end by saying that I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone. I shall be looking to see what else this author has to offer.

Great Read
When James Williams moves to a backwoods town for a fresh start he encounters a young girl who he suspects is being abused. Reporting it to the local police was possibly the biggest mistake of his life.Persecuted by the tight-knit community and corrupt law enforcement officials James is pitched into a battle for his life.Great characters, terrific plot and another cracking read from Phil Williams

A little slow initially but breaks out!
An interesting and somewhat different story that demands to be pursued to the last page. Started a little slowly perhaps, but then becomes engrossing as it becomes believable with many thought-provoking situations along the way.James Fisher, a teacher with a penchant for teaching in a somewhat unorthodox manner, can engage his students and make them think. His manner gets him in strife with his employer and when he rebels against the system he quits and moves to Pennsylvania to start again. There, he befriends a young teenage girl that is being mistreated by an older male and this friendship attracts the attention of the local police who are related to another miscreant student of James’s. From here the story really takes off as James rebels against the bullying of the local police and their illegal side activities and indulges in a many illegal activities himself. All the while he has the interests of the young lass Brittany Summers at heart and eventually, he moves her to live with a friend from his past while he pursues revenge against the bullying and illegal activities in the small town, he has made home. Brittany gets the higher education James has encouraged since they met, and James disappears to a new life in Mexico.A really good read.Moses
