Pieces don’t stay organized
Really nice set however, the pieces don’t lock into place and there is no foam to hold them in place. So when you get it, you have to put them all back where they belong as well as anytime the tool set shifts around. A think foam piece placed in the tool set would help secure all the parts better and given it a 5-star review.

Tools ok, no release button and GW should be ashamed of the case
I’m trying to decide whether to keep this or not. I got it during the recent sale that brought the price down to near its lowest price on record, but I really thought the case complaints were exaggerated. They were not. When it arrived I think 2, yes 2 !!! sockets were still in their place. It’s hard to even comprehend how some got loose but they all did. I had intended this to be a fill in set for pieces that have been lost from my old Craftsman sets and one that I could keep upstairs and carry where needed. You may as well throw them into a ziplock bag if you are thinking of using the box. I have had MANY tool sets over the years and regardless of the brand I have never seen anything like this poor case quality. Mastercraft, Craftsman old and new, PM, junk versions. All had better, functional cases compared to this.Enough case ranting. The tools seem nice enough even though the 1/4” drive ratchet doesn’t feel as good as a 90 tooth ratchet should. The 3/8” feels fine. I, like others, failed to notice there is no release button for the ratchets. I’m trying to decide if that along with the box are enough to push me to return. The engagement and removal is not overly stiff but they aren’t “nice” either. I would hope they would wear in or you could lubricate them to improve it.Finally, I think the markings deserve a mention. They just fall short of what I expected on the execution even if the idea was good. I have seen much better and at least some that are worse. Even the ones that are large are hard to read unless you get the right bright lighting. I didn’t think to take a picture before I sorted the pile of tools (about 40 minutes) when they arrived but I am including a picture of the markings even though I’m not sure it tells the whole story. As others have said the engraving is just too shallow. Mine say made in Taiwan on the cardboard box but nowhere else that I see.

Great Tool Set!
Love the set but that case is beyond ridiculous. Nothing stays in place. It’s a good buy if you need the pieces and don’t intend to use them on the go.

Nice! But….
You can’t beat the price of this set and the tools are what I expect of Gear Wrench however I bought this set with the case for a reason and the case is not a good fit. Every time I open this case, I have to straighten all the tools back up. The case does not keep the tools in order as I expected. I have the 1/2” impact set with the case in metric and standard and the cases are completely different. This case twists under the weight of the tools.

Tools good. Case, not so much
90 tooth ratchets seem nice and sturdy, sockets also appear well-made. Markings fully legible, but not very deeply cut. Case - if we're being honest - is a joke. Arrived in intact cardboard outer box, inside of shipping box an already pieces rattling around inside. Could have been damaged in shipping, but didn't look like it. Have seen other (smaller) GearWrench sets with cases that close and retain just fine, so maybe just a one-off: lid and floor on short sides did not meet at the middle, though the latches and hinges on the long side closed those fine. Out of curiosity, I popped the two halves apart and tried to bend the lid back to flat. Improved things a little, but contents in the middle of the tray still just slosh around once case is at 90 degrees. Nothing spills all the way out, so if you plan to store it flat all the time, or don't care about organization, this could be a non-issue for you. Ultimately I opted to toss the case in the trash and store the whole set (minus ratchets and extensions) on an Olsa Tools Portable Socket Organizer Tray. Decent deal for sub $100, even without the case. There is a Project Farm review on YouTube that rates the ratchet highly. If I had to use with the case, would definitely have returned.

Great tools, poorly thought out set
I purchased this because gear wrench has a good reputation, people seem to say good things about their tools. And I will say the ratchets are decent and the sockets also seem like good quality. My reason for ranking it so low is because when I opened the case all the sockets were out of place piled up in the center. If you shake the box at all your sockets will be unorganized. It’s a huge case for what you get. There are no deep 3/8 drive metric sockets. There is a combination of 6 and 12 point sockets. And lastly the switch on the ratchet is opposite from what I’m used to for the on off. I don’t think this would make a good beginner kit, truck kit, or anything. I do not think it’s a good kit.

Excelente calidad, precio bastante bueno para todo lo que provee el autocleck, y la caja de transporte es muy útil para mantenerlo organizado, no estorba tanto y el plástico no se desgasta tan facil

Perfect set for any sort of mechanic
Very impressed by the quality of this set! I bought it mainly to have all the sizes up to 1 inch that I didn't already have in my 1/4 set.I actually found myself using it way more than intended because the ratchet is incredible (stands up to my snap on ratchet) and the kit is complete. Already looking to buy the 1/4 ratchet for my own liking! I used (and already abused) the ratchet daily for a few weeks and I can definitely say it is made for real work.

Production/ Manufacture Defect
Pros: 3/8" drive 12pt short & deep socket. 72 tooth ratchet. 2 extensions. 1 swivel adapter.Cons: Size engraving on the box was a little hard to read (painted it white)GEARWRENCH PRODUCTION DEFECT: 3/4" deep socket came as 6pt, instead of 12pt; no size engraving on the socket. (Only reason why I rated it 3 stars).
