Perfect Gift for Beginners & Experts Alike
I adore this book, especially as an intermediate learner at hand embroidery. I have been practicing for a year while collecting patterns and guides on stitches and techniques. This book includes a overview of embroidery, ideas for beginners and experts in starting and finishing a project (such as listening to a podcast or show while working at your own pace) and 50 projects with the accompanying templates at the back. It also includes two different font patterns which is very useful, as I have begun collecting letters to embroider for my own projects. There are 30 stitches that are reviewed with accompanying photographs of how to achieve the stitch. It is very easy to follow along with but even more useful to understand the names of each stitch so that you can review further guides online, if necessary. There are a variety of sizes of patterns so that you can pick-and-choose what you want to embroider and have the size match your project. Each project has an accompanying photograph of a completed version, along with the embroidery thread color guide, the stitch guide and detailed instructions. Each project takes up about two pages. The projects are straightforward and relatively easy to do but can provide a decent collection for intermediate to experts in embroidery that want to take pieces and make their own project. This book is a fantastic gift or investment for anyone interested in embroidery, regardless of skill level. I would definitely recommend it.

Truly Beginner Friendly
I like to get those little embroidery kits off amazon that claim they are beginner friendly because everything is included that I need. I am a beginner. The problem with most of these kits it the Chinglish directions. Needless to say, I decided I need an embroidery book before I ordered another kit (I love the kits). I had several books on my wish list & when I came across this, ordered it.It's pretty great (4.5 stars). Nearly all of the projects are very appealing to me & the patterns & stitches are simple to grasp. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the way the patterns are placed in the back of the book. They are all together. You have to copy them & the cut them out while avoiding cutting into other images. I would have much preferred one pattern image per page. Aside from that, the book is awesome!

The First 20 Pages Are Worth The Price of the Book
Embroidery for Everyone is embroidery for everyone offering up easy-to-learn techniques and 50 practice projects by Kelly Fletcher. I found the first 20 pages of the book to be the most informative and thorough, covering tips, tricks, tools along with several pages dedicated to explaining the various types of stitches you may come across in the 50+ projects also found in the book. Very visual with colorful images. Simple, easy-to-follow instructions and tips. I'm a self-taught knitter and wanted to take up embroidery. I have a few newbie kits with patterns, thread, and hoops, but wasn't quite sure how to get started. This book was extremely helpful. I appreciate the author expounding on alternative ways to transfer and use patterns + common troubleshooting.

Perfect for the Beginner
This is a wonderful book for someone who is starting out with embroidery, as I am. It actually was far better than I expected. It explains most, if not all, of the basic stitches with fairly clear pictures/diagrams. But the best part is that it has pages and pages of patterns. The patterns are simple enough for a beginner to use, yet many of them are nice enough that an advanced embroiderer would enjoy them too. There are animal and bird patterns, insects, leaves, flowers... So many cute and charming ideas! The patterns come complete with instructions as to the type of stitch to use and suggested colors, but I could see that it would be very easy to tweak these and make something very original. Recommended!

Wonderful Patterns - Great for Beginners
This is a great book for those new to embroidery in general or those who are new to transferring or working with patterns. The book begins with detailed instructions for starting, colors and all the stitches used. I like to see the stitches actually being done so I use youtube to search out instructional videos. This book is great for those who like to add details to clothing, linens, or accessories like tote bags and pillows. Each pattern has a couple of pages detailing stitches, etc. But all the patterns are also included in b/w at the end of the book. A pattern can be enlarged or shrunk depending on what you need. Great resource and highly recommend!
