I don't think I have the words to articulate how much I loved this book, but I'm going to try. Reid and Roxy are everything. I was sucked into this story from the moment they met at the age of ten and was wholly enamored with this world until the very last page.I loved everything about this story, from the supporting characters to the real way it discussed social issues. Cross Your Heart is my first Haley Jenner book, and it's easily one of my favorite reads of the year.

This was a very good love storytelling many years. Sometimes love doesn't happen for both people at the same time. Great writing. A Very unique way was put into it. A Very important topic underlining the story. Likable characters, good flow, everything you want in a book. Highly recommended!

This book was wonderful!I’m deducting half a star because there were a few things I felt could have been wrapped up better.But overall, this book tugged on my heart strings. I loved the way they had Roxy handle the bullying. Having her explain her feelings and showing how you can both strong and just utterly done with the world at the same time was handled so well.This was sexy and different and there wasn’t some stupid form of miscommunication they kept them estranged like so many romance stories. They were just in two different places and handled their different types of heartbreak on their own. You felt their hurt and you felt their love. It was just really well done. Different and sweet and steamy and 🤌!

Super cute friends to lovers book. I loved how deep their friendship was in the beginning and how the author shows that. It was a shorter book so seeing everything move quick isn’t surprising..I do wish we got the see the talk they had after the table incident, but I guess it wasn’t necessary. Overall super cute book!

Haley Jenner did it again. This story had me feeling things weeks after I was done and wishing that it would never end half way through. I just can’t get enough of HJ.

Cross your Heart should be called “Break Your Heart” as this is how I felt at many times during my read of the wonderful book by these two wonderfully talented ladies. This book was full of so much more than just a love story it was full of many issues we can all face in this day and age from Bullying, self-doubt, rejection, loss, heartbreak, success, forgiveness and dreams. This book is a friends to lovers second chance romance that will have you swooning over the characters as they struggle with their lives as young adults. I have read all but one of Haley Jenner’s books and I still am amazed at the power their words have on me with every new book I read.Have you ever been told Boys and Girls can’t be just friends?Well at the age of ten Ried Rivere and Roxy Monroe meet and become best friends they made promises to each other and said Crossed Your Heart that their friendship would never turn into anything other than best friends. They were inseparable for many years with them both almost becoming one person as they had so many interests the same.“Feelings are more powerful than people give them credit for.”But Roxy had been hiding some feeling for the past for years when the night of Prom come around she blurted out the words Ried never wanted to her to speak “I am in love with you”. I am a sucker for a best friends to lovers romance. Throw in a stage where they're enemies and I get all kinds of giddy. If he also happens to be a dirty talker then ding, ding, ding - we've got a winner!!!Reid and Roxy are the best of friends. Childhood BFFs sworn to be each other's person until the end of days. A kiss ruins everything and hearts get broken. Unbreakable bonds are shattered and futures altered. Haley Jenner captured that exquisite pain of being a teenager and loving someone you can't have so perfectly I felt an ache in my chest reading this one. Can I just say that Reid also gives Roxy a nickname that had me swooning like a MOFO & he had zero idea what it did to this poor teenage girl's heart! Gah! Teenage boys are the WORST!A decade of mistakes and loneliness pass before they cross paths again but it's not the reunion either envisioned. Nope. It's so much more! I yelled, I ranted, I might have even threatened the authors at certain points because these two made me legit crazy. I wanted to slap them, hug them and then hump Reid! I also got super emotional when the book touched on real world issues such as cyber bullying and the filth that social media can become.A shout out needs to be given to the supporting characters in this one who made this such a rich reading experience - I have already put in my list of demands for who else needs their story told.To sum it up, if that's even possible, it's a beautifully told love story that gives an honest account of what fear can make you miss out on. What it means when loving someone the wrong way is just as bad as not loving them at all. My Reading Heart is HAPPY!!!

A love story that was not just about two people, but incorporated today’s struggles with bullying and social media’s grip on our psyche. Yes, the story starts with two best friends who become livers, but that’s just bread of the most delicious and filling sandwich you’ll ever devour. The stuff in the middle is incredible and makes you realize that, although this is fiction, you see everyday how celebrities are attacked on social media for their clothing, a bad angle shot, sex tapes, relationship partners. Who are we to decide someone’s life? I love how this book brings drama, love, lust, sex, anger and social struggles together for a wild ride.

Gasp, sigh, cry, cheer and above all SWOON, SWOON, SWOON!!!This friends to lovers, with a splash of second chance romance will tear your heart in pieces, gingerly repair it with the strongest of bonds and give it wings to soar again.There's so much to love in this story; the joy and tenderness of childhood friendship that's torn apart when with maturity love blooms for one, to be replaced with hate and betrayal and the loneliness and regret of it's loss. And when reunited, that bond is reformed only to then stumble when it morphs into so much more.This truly is a kaleidoscope of emotions so superbly written by these two immensely talented authors!But for me, the real power of this tale is the battle for self love against those that would tear us down.In this technological world where we broadcast our lives to the masses on social media, we are so vulnerable to the trolls and critics, and even those with the most solid of resolve can have their armour chipped away.Here, Roxy is our champion.Stunningly portrayed, she is tested and remade. She is my idol and a heroine for all time!Her values, her vulnerability, and her courage all admirable traits we should aspire to.As a hero, Reid too is a unicorn of men; aloof, complex, loyal to a fault but also with an endearing fragility and God, but did I want to shake absolute hell out of him at times, and at others worship at this feet!This book is well in excess of a 5 star rating and one of my absolute favourite reads for this year!If you've ever struggled with your own self image then you owe it to yourself to read this story.Thank you Haley Jenner, I'm in love with myself again!
