Affordable and halal!
Very pleased with this product! I've yet to find an application that let me down. It's hard to find halal gelatin this cheap! Usually halal options are more expensive, but this is cheaper than even knoxx, and performs better. I never write reviews, but was so pleased with the purchase I felt compelled.

Excellent culinary gelatin powder
Gelatin powder is flavorless so it can be used for making mousses, aspics and jello type desserts. The key is that it dissolves nicely in our application and that it doesn't clump in the cupboard or during use. It works

GREAT for homemade marshmallows (control sugar), & all other gelling needs, try in smoothies
Gelatin dissolves in hot liquid, gels in cold. This is a good Gelatin that gels :) I prefer to buy brands that let me know what the origin of cows were used, and preferably grass fed (even though I am not sure if any can actually guarantee the latter). I dont rate on price, but this is perhaps the most expensive I have purchased for the size: 17.6 ounces for $25, $1.42 ounce. That all being said, it seems perfectly fine. It works as expected. If you are using this strictly for health reasons, I recommend starting off low and slow and allow your gut to acclimate. Sometimes the sudden bump in protein and/or the fact that it isn't hydrolyzed peptides (already broken down into usable form) can trigger some digestive upset to start. Not everyone, but some. Sometimes I see mention of this in various collagen or gelatin products, and I know it is likely they started with too much, too often, too quickly. When used in recipes, it doesn't seem to have that effect. But yeh, gelatin is awesome for hair, skin, nails! For thickening, say in a smoothie.. if you dont want to just add it in (it wont dissolve, but wont be too gritty), it can be prepped by add some powder to a small amount of hot water-- just enough to get it to dissolve, THEN add to your smoothie, which will then help thicken it, add a nice texture.Been awhile since I have used a beef gelatin product. I was using stuff like this before hydrolyzed collagen became ubiquitous. Even though beef gelatin isn't broken down into peptides for quick, easy absorption, it still works really well for nutritional needs (especially hair nails), and is a very cheap option over hydrolyzed. The pro (or con) depending on what your needs are, is that it does not mix into cold liquid (does ok in smoothies); it needs hot (so coffee is good vehicle to mix it into, or soup). BUT, once cold, it sets into.. gelatin! Funny to have a cup of coffee flavored jello. Alas, it can be reheated and will turn back into liquid. Those days had been long gone as I have been using hydrolyzed products for many years now. BUT, I still have a need for gelatin in the kitchen, so I keep a small container on hand for that reason. In cooking and baking, gelatin adds smoothness & creaminess in higher liquid volume foods (think mousse), and it is definitely used for solidifying liquids into a gel (ie like jello). You can make your own jello, gummies, MARSHMALLOWS!! (If you have never made your own marshmallows, or want to control the amount of sugar that goes into them, home made marshmallows are not complicated to make). Good for making a quick "jam/jelly", and so on,.The beef gelatin is packed in a bag, packed in a box. No flavor that I can discern. I am super used to consuming stuff like this, so it could be that my taste buds aren't as sensitive to any flavors gelatin may impart anymore.Toss up between 4 & 5 stars as I really see nothing wrong with it. You decide!Made in China
