Finally, a bottle we love!
We've been looking for a straw bottle for my 1.5 year old toddler. We were specifically looking for something that he could drink milk out of; that means for us that it has to be easy to clean (if we accidentally let it sit out for too long, we need to be able to wash it in a jiffy), easy to hold for small hands, easy to pull a drink from it, and clear so that I know that when cleaning every bit of milk residue is removed. We still had several straw bottles we loved very much from when our first kid was younger. But with them deteriorating from so much use and age, about 6 mo ago we started looking for new replacement bottles. We went through so many types rather unsuccessfully: those 360 sippy cup things (it gives my kid gas and it isn't quick to clean), other no-spill straw bottles (my kid poo pooed most because they were difficult to pull liquid through), regular cups with plain straws (uh huh. mess galore). We still held desperately on to those deteriorating bottles and trying new ones HOPING we could find something good and finding nothing good. Then we saw a kid using a Frogo cup! We knew Thermos made bottles in thermos variety, but had no idea they came in clear plastic as well! We already own 5 Thermos funtainers for water/juice, which we love very much so we thought HEY... let's give that a try. Granted, these bottles cost 3x the price of most straw cups out there you can purchase in stores. But this one bottle, had we realized they existed earlier, would have saved us 3x the price of THIS bottle (from all the failure purchases)! *sigh*In any case: WE LOVE LOVE LOVE this bottle. Easy to clean, totally see through, doesn't leak (with a caveat; see below), easy to hold, easy to pull liquid from, latch is easy to manouver... I can't think of a single negative side. Perfect for milk. *happy sighhhhhhh*The biggest fault you will see in the reviews is that it leaks. This is quite true: if the lid and/or the plastic sipping portion of the straw is wet when you close the lid, it's almost guaranteed the plastic will twist sideways and leak. This is not only true about Frogos but also Funtainers (although the latest version of Funtainer likely fixes this problem, tho I am not a fan of the new design for other reasons). But it's easily fixed: You just have to make sure that the inside of the lid and the sipping disk is dry before you close the lid. All it really takes is a careful wipe with cloth or paper towel. Funtainers have never leaked since this realization. And the Frogo we have... well we had the advantage of knowing the weakness of Thermos bottles already, so we never ran into leakage problem.So. Maybe having to keep the lid/sipping disk dry might be a wee bit of an inconvenience. But other than that, I have see no issue not to get this product. It's been a godsend for us after so many failure of trying random products. Why didn't we think to look at Thermos still baffles me... but anyway. We are perfectly happy now, and that's what counts!

not bad, but not great
I bought this many months ago. It is easy to clean, but you will need a brush to clean the straw. Cap opens easy enough, and I have not seen it open up on it's own if dropped or bumped (unless hit right on the button). This does leak if the cap is up and tipped over since there is no backflow valve or baffle. It does not leak if the cap is closed, because it compresses against the silicone straw to pinch it. This has not broken, and it has been dropped quite a few times. My toddler enjoys this bottle.I had to buy different cups that do not spill when tipped over until she got a bit older.Overall, I am happy with this purchase.

Great Product!
We have been using this for over two months now and haven't had any problems. I had read some reviews that said this leaked, but it doesn't -- when it's closed. I'm not sure if people are expecting it not to leak when the top is open? What I wanted is a water bottle I could pack in my kids' lunch bags (sideways) and not have to worry about it leaking. This is perfect. My kids are 4 & 5 years old. They understand that they have to close it before putting it away (you can hear a little "click" sound when you close it so you know it's closed all the way). Once it's open, you drink it the same way you would a normal straw. There is no additional sucking needed to get the drink out. If the bottle is tipped over on the table or something, yes, it will leak out of the straw. There isn't any special valve on this to keep it from coming out the straw, but that is not a problem IMO. Works as expected. Easy to keep clean. I usually wash by hand and occasionally run it through the top rack in the dishwasher just to sterilize it. We use it only for water and sometimes juice. I am planning to get the insulated ones too for milk. I also like how large the opening is so if you want to put a few ice cubes in there, you can do it without any problem. I would definitely recommend for preschool age and up.

Not totally leakproof, but still my favorite straw bottle
I didn't realize how much I loved this bottle until I experienced a different bottle. My 15-month-old has been using this bottle for half a year now and he drinks with such ease. Right now he only drinks via straws. I forgot the water bottle on a recent weekend trip and stopped at a store to buy a straw water bottle. I decided to go for the Tommy Tippee leak proof water bottles. They were definitely leak proof...but to the point that the bottle was extremely difficult to use. My baby could not casually sip with that bottle. It took so much sucking force that he would have to be really thirsty to have the motivation to drink (even after I opened the lid in hopes of releasing pressure). Then disassembling that lid for cleaning the mouthpiece was a nightmare (that's an overstatement...it was unpleasant and not very user-friendly). I missed my Thermos Foogo straw bottle so badly. I would rather deal with some minor leaking than have no leaks but not be able to suck up the liquid! It says it's leak proof, so that's my main reason for bumping it to 4 stars. This bottle is very simple to assemble/disassemble and clean. I make sure to keep it upright when it's full, otherwise it will leak. It doesn't leak as badly if it isn't as full. I also found that I can screw the lid on too tight, otherwise the rubber mouthpiece does not stay in line with where it's supposed to be, hence some of my leaking, I think. You can close it tight, just not super duper tight, which is fine.I highly recommend this bottle!
