Mehaz Professional Solingen Germany Double Edge Safety Razor Chrome

I have read reviews after reviews on pretty much everything j buy from Amazon.I see some that are very good and very few that are bad about this razor.I see that a lot on stuff I purchase through here.You as a consumer have to remember that not everyone is the same, you cannot make everyone happy. Some are stuck on a product and you cannot even change their mind if it is guest thing they ever used!That being said, this RAZOR IS AWESOME!!!!! I had bought the Wilkinson safety razor plastic one. It was OK I am new too safety razor shaving and kick my self everyday for not converting sooner. But the Wilkinson nicked me not very close at all, so I figured I'd give another razor a try before I went back to spending money on disposable junk.So I looked and looked and read review after review . I ran across the Mehaz razor and there were a lot of comments about this that were positive and few negative . I am sooooooooooo glad I listened to myself and bought this one. I shaved with it and after I was in total shock ..... not one nick that bleed! I did not have razor burn afterword like I did with the Wilkinson. I did not even know I was shaving with a blade. I had to check over and over again to make sure the blade was in correctly. Sure enough it was and I got the closest smoothest most comfortable shave without nicks and razor burn I have ever had!!!¡!No I do not understand why, what the difference was or is because I used the same blades I used in the Wilkinson ? But the people that explained why this safety razor is awesome proved to me they know what they are talking about! And the ones that were negative well they were or are new to DE safety razor shaving and did something wrong or used a bad blade or a terrible shave soap or they do not do it right or plan and simple they are happier with another brand of style. And you just cannot make everyone happy.However I feel this razor is worth way more than they are charging for it!!!!It performs perfectly . I am extremely happy and recommend it to any an everyone! There is not much more I can say to convince anyone to buy this razor , the only thing I can say or do is to say it is your loss to not at least try it out?

All shaving problems solved with this. Mucho dinero saved each year. Landfills have less plastic and my titanium beard hairs no longer jam between multi-blades making the blades unable to cut more beard. No joke - because of that problem I could only get maybe 2 shaves out of a multi blade and nothing (I tried EVERYTHING) would get those tough hairs out of the blades. Their spring-action strength seemed to fuse them to the blades. LIke in the days before disposables this Mehaz uses one blade with two opposing sides (you can use both sides) and when hairs get jammed between the blade and the blade handle just turn the dial on the handles bottom a bit so the top that holds the blade in place opens and rinse under water for a second to flush the hairs out. Then tighten the top back down and continue shaving. The only reason to put a new blade in is when the one you have finally dulls over time - and my Personnas double-edge blades (Amazon) LAST. And PLEASE - be sure to wrap the old blade in tape before throwing out so no one down the line reaches in there for some reason and gets sliced up bad - it happens. Or if your medicine cabinet as that slot in the back inside that's there to drop your old blades in. If you're young you may not know that slot is there for that purpose.

Nice razor, I am a first time user of a double edge razor. They recommend and I ordered the Personna double edge blades. While waiting for the razor to come I went 2 days without without shaving. I also ordered Taylor of Old Bond Street Avocado Shaving Cream In A Bowl and a Escali 100% Pure Badger Shaving Brush. To be honest for a first time user I checked out a few videos on youtube.com on how to use a double edge razor and I followed their instructions and I must have been doing something right only one slight nick and I did a 3 pass wet shave, 2 really would have been enough and then I wouldn't have the slight nick. This razor is fine as were the Persona blades. I admit I got sucked in by all the hoopla and wanting to save money so I tried one. This razor, probably like most, did fine on my face but was not as comfortable as my Gillette Mach III nor any closer. The big problem, for me at least, is that I shave my head and I find safety razors very problematic for that. I don't believe my scalp is bumpier or lumpier than average but the shave was not good at all. It was hard to get a close, even shave and many of my lumps and bumps were left bleeding. I did in fact look at the how to's and took my time and was careful. So if you are considering a safety razor you may do fine but you may find shaving your head can be difficult.

After using those multi blade, expensive razors for many years, I went back to the old school double edge razors about 6 months ago when I discovered that you can buy very decent safety razors again. I am 60 years old, so I grew up using the old Gillette double edge like my Dad used. I've got a few razors, as I am always searching for the perfect shave. The cheap Weishi was my favorite, as it's not very aggressive, and i'd say on a scale of 1 to 10, my beard is probably around a 6 or maybe even 7, so I don't need something ultra aggressive, nor do I enjoy bleeding! I did want something a little bit more aggressive than the Weishi, so I thought i'd try the Mehaz. Boy, am I glad I did! It is perfect for me. I've tried about 10 different blades, and I've found that Wilkinson Swords, and the Mehaz razor is a great combination for me. And, yes I know, razors and blades, soaps etc are pretty subjective, but for a first time double edge shaver, this would be an excellent razor to start with. Also, its a great looking razor. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of it. I like it so much, i'm probably going to invest in a couple more just to have around in case they ever stop selling them.
