Unrelenting Prayer

This is a great book. I needed it. It's not your average book on prayer. It's definitely most meaningful for those who have waited a long time for God to answer and who can't figure out what is happening. Almost all teaching and emphases on prayer are about instant answers, great faith and the like. The only thing wrong with that teaching (meaning most of it is right) is that it doesn't prepare us for the times that God seems to take forrrrrreeever and the believer is hit with questions and doubts within themselves and even disrespect from other believers who decide that you either don't have enough faith or there's something wrong with your faith. Wow. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. The author says that lots of folks give up at this point, unaware that the delayed answer is a blessing and an invitation. He also points out how Biblical giants in the faith often waited and how great their reward was for waiting on the Lord. I like when he states that the reason you're still praying all this time isn't because you lack faith but because you have faith and you won't quit. Lots of questions are answered in this book and plenty of encouragement to keep on going.

I am so thankful that I discovered Bob Sorge. Oh saints of God this insightful book is for anyone who has been through the fire of delayed answers in prayer. So encouraging. Please read

I have read many a book written by Bob Sorge--all of which have changed my life and ignited my passion for God. Like many of his other works, "Unrelenting Prayer," encourages the believer to seek God with abandonment and not give in to the temptation to give up when prayers go seemingly unanswered. As is his imitable style, Sorge directs the focus toward Jesus and the pursuit of Him. He points out that even in the midst of discouragement and despair, God loves us and is there when He seems so far away, and for that reason, we should be encouraged to persevere in prayer and not relent, as God is always faithful. Bob Sorge clearly explains that God in His sovereignty and holiness reckons time differently than we, and since He is the director of our destinies we can trust Him to engineer a delay when He deems it appropriate, and He can deliver an answer in His own timing. He reiterates throughout the book the love and care of God as well has His divine sovereignty. We can trust that even when we do not understand His movements, He is committed to our success and any delay to answered prayer is only to perfect us and bring about a best result to bless us and glorify Him. This is a must-read for those of you desiring the ability to persevere in prayer when everything in and around you tells you your efforts are futile. For surely Satan's greatest diabolical feat would be to shut our mouths and extinguish the fire of our communication with God.

This is a great book. Very encouraging when you are in a long difficult ordeal. This author is truly living out his truth that he is chronicling here. How he explains God avenging us speedily and the chapters on reproach alone are worth the price of admission. Not sugar coated but meaty truths from the Word and hard experience that most if not all of us will need sooner or later and throughout our lives till we get to glory. I've already gone back to it several times to exhort myself and encourage myself in The Lord in the middle of a burdensome, seemingly unsolvable trial for which I have no answers. was trying to get social security disability, with denials for 2 years. started reading this book. read a bit at a time. seemed what I read was all I needed for the time.by the time I went to court I was at the exact part of the book that helped me say what I needed to say and asked God to get justice for me and beat my adversary.Had to remember God wanted me to win! Took that faith with me and won my case.unfortunately,at age 56 I am disabled, but God has restored my faith and vigor for a good,even healthy life! I trust Him daily to watch over me and my family. I have passed this book on to others,also, who need to see how long it may take God to answer their immediate prayer. But He will do what is best for you ,always.

Unrelenting Prayer is a book encouraged by our prayer minister in church. I read it right after two of my favorite women had died, my mother and my sister in law and my friend. Walking through the grief process a verse quoted in the book, Jeremiah31:3 "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." IThe verse and the book just gave my heart the courage to just keep believing in the power of prayer even if I did not understand everything that happens in life. We as humans go through trials and tribulations in life but we have the God who walks with us and will never leave us. That is his living Word.

I have read a LOT of books on prayer. I have learned a lot on the subject of prayer over the years. And yet this book has touched and encouraged me in ways I never expected. The premise is simple, yet profound. The illustrations are poignent and powerful. If you have labored in prayer and wondered when ... or if .. you would see an answer, this book is for you. If you are just begining to wade into prayer beyond a "meals and bedtime" approach, this book is for you. If you have lost the heart to pray, this book is definitely for you!This book will most certainly remain in my "re-read often" pile.

I got so many revelations while reading this book that I'm going to read it a second time. It made my prayer life so much more powerful! Great book to have if you're a prayer warrior. Will shelve with my "keepers".

Powerful book. A definite if you are going 'uncharted waters' and how to seek God over them. A must read.

Bob is easy to read and content is good... it greatly enhanced by walk with God in prayer, recommend this book very much

I liked the author’s explanation of the subject but felt he used too many words to make his point.
