It is made of thick fibers and thin fibers which are shiny and give the rug dimension and a subtle sheen without being too shiny. Pile is about 2” long.The ivory color has a little more yellow undertones than I was expecting. I wish I had gone with the bone. It is more of an old-school ivory color. But honestly, it’s not enough as a problem that I am going through the hassle of returning it, it is heavy!It has not shed much at all since it was unrolled. The rug arrives folded, then you unfold and leave it rolled up for a day or two, and then position the rug.All in all, a great rug for a great price!

It has a nice thickness and look to it. Rolled out easily without warping or curling.

Essentially, this rug is in the same family as the Safavieh venice rug - the difference being the Venice rug has thinner yarns woven in amongst the shiny threads and this Luxe shag rug has yarns about 20x as thick as the venice yarns. If you just look at them in a room you might not be able to tell the difference, but when you walk on them the difference is very apparent. This rug is MUCH thicker than the venice and really feels, well... luxe. Hence the name I suppose.I first ordered the bone and I thought I received ivory by mistake because in the listing photos the bone looks much darker than the ivory. So I ordered a small ivory rug for comparison and there is a very small difference. Bone is ever so slightly darker with a hint of neutral brown and ivory is true to the word ivory. See comparison photos on a white background and with a white sheet of paper for color comparisons.I placed one rug in the highest traffic hallway of the house and one in a lower traffic area and after over a year of use, they both still look fantastic so we felt very confident in splurging and ordering a giant luxe rug for our bedroom. The yarns in the rug in the high traffic area are definitely more compacted than the yarns in the other rug, but you really can only tell if you put the rugs side by side and then you can see/feel the difference a bit. However the shiny yarns woven throughout never get matted down and they really keep the rug looking like new. I vacuum it with my shark vacuum set to hard floor and haven't had any issues. We have pets and i've had to clean several messes off both the rugs (I use resolve carpet cleaner) and they cleaned up very easily (surprisingly!) and look like it never happened.If you're looking for a truly luxurious plush rug, take the plunge. Worth every penny and more. One thing to note is you can't really have this rug by any swinging doors because it's so thick. If you're looking for a thinner plush rug, check out the venice rug because it's still a nice rug too. 100% would recommend.

I bought this rug over 5 years ago and loved it. But over the years it has gotten matted where we always sit. It was time to replace and I decided to buy it again because it is so soft and I loved the look and color in my room. It feels and looks great, just like the original, but it has a strong odor. I thought it was just that it was so new and it would go away, but it's been about a month now and it's not gone away. It stinks up my whole house. It's too thick of a carpet to spray anything on it and it's the middle of winter now so putting it outside is out of the question.

I bought this run in 2020 and absolutely love it. After 4 years with a rough dog it is starting to shed and smell. I can’t seem to find one that I love as much so I am repurchasing it. It is super soft and THICK. Not disappointed at all.

Love this rug. It is made for bare feet! I chose this for the master bedroom because I just remodeled and want to create a very comfortable, serene atmosphere. This rug should be shown off and not covered and smashed down with a bunch of furniture! It looks like the 8x10 will fit well as a 3/4 floor cover underneath our king bed (rug laid out with the 10' side horizontal under the bed). The head of the bed and nightstands will sit on the hardwood floor, and the rug will be luxuriously underfoot when getting in and out of bed. There was a slight odor that dissipated by the next day (hence the minus one star). One side of the rug was curled up when unrolled, but it flattened out fairly quickly with some weight placed on it. It is so thick and plush, no pad is needed. It is made up of dense, fluffy yarn-like fibers mixed with the super thin, flokati-like threads. It is the perfect blend. The color isn't as beige-y as the product photo, and I wouldn't call it stone. It is more of an ivory, and there is no hint of yellow. It is all one solid color and has a slight shimmer or sheen. I have Super White walls and white oak floors, and the rug looks great, having almost a really pale champagne hue at dusk. It's a sexy rug and a great value.

I have looked at many, MANY rugs, to find something like this one. It was important to me that it was soft, and not like some fabrics that make my skin feel it is sticking to the fabric. I also wanted it thick enough that I did not feel the weave underneath. This delivers on both! I was willing to get a thick pad if it was not as thick as I hoped, but I definitely don't need that. Very soft, plush, and comfortable. Cannot find a complaint!BEGIN UPDATE - This rug was everything I said above, but a few months in, it started shedding individual threads. Now it sheds nonstop and I am constantly picking up, or even sweeping up numerous threads. Plus, it mats down, and while at first I could fluff it up with a brush, now it just does not look great. Just my husband and I are here, and it is in a room where we usually only sit to watch tv at night. I have some room to play, as far as how much I put under the sofa, and I have moved it around, so we are not always putting our feet in the same spot, but unfortunately, I would say this rug has not stood the test of time.
