Irritrol2706PR Manual Anti-Siphon Valve, 3/4"

I replaced the one that was on the house when I bought it 20 years ago. This valve is used to turn on the water to fill the pool. I wondered why the previous owner used the hose to fill the pool when they had this convenient way to do it. I found that every time I used it, water would leak out. I had to re-do my plumbing where this is located so I bought a new one. Then 3 weeks later I bought another one to replace the one in my sprinkler system which was also leaking. I replaced both valves at the same time with the same results. They both leaked just like the one in the photo. Unfortunately the time to return the first valve had passed so I was only able to return one. Spend the money for a real anti siphon valve and don't bother with this one.

I seen some complaints for this valve leaking. 2 of the 3 valves I purchased failed the test described below. (close the screw valve and try to blow air backwards through it, the antisiphon valve should seat and not allow air through), My failed valves had excess plastic preventing the valve from seating. If installed like this, they would have leaked bad! This is not all that uncommon for a molded palstic valves. Unscrew the anit siphon side and look at why the valve doesn't seat. Mine had excess plastic so I trimmed it off, reassembled, tested and all worked fine. Took less than 15 minutes test all 3 and repair 2...If there was a missing gasket or something I would have sent them back, but to me checking for the obvious was easier...Hope this helps

The valve failed and started leaking in less than 3 months. The turn-on shaft O-ring seal popped loose and started leaking.

Bought this in order to rebuild an old Richdel R706 that had begun leaking at the shutoff valve. Was able to take the Irritrol apart and replace the worn out washers and o-ring on the Richdel. Replacement parts fit perfectly.
