Perfect even with nut based yogurt
I’m new to making yogurt and I have to make it with plant based ingredients. I was expecting a few disasters to start with but that was not the case. I still need to thicken the yogurt with a bit of agar agar but it tastes like real yogurt. Very happy. It’s very easy to use and store

this is an honest review
The media could not be loaded. at first i thought this set isn’t fit for purpose, the sleeve is very thin and does not hold the heat. first try did as you do, boiled milk to 180f, left at that temp for 5 mins then left to cool to 115f. already had a bulgarian starter so mixed in, put sleeve on and left in the bottom of the airing cupboard over nite! was still runny by morn and thought oh sod this, so back in the pan and bought back up to 115f, i then wrapped it in 1 layer of foil and wrapped a hand towel round it, back in the airing cupboard till late eve… yes it worked. second batch i used 2 tbs of the one i’d made, wrapped it all up first time this time and left over nite, about 10 hrs and it was perfect this time, thicker. you may think it’s faff, but it takes 20 seconds to just wrap it up, and tbh i couldn’t be bothered to return it. i’m now looking for a spare jar but can’t seem to find one. all in all it works very well with a little extra padding. gave 4 stars tho as personally with out that extra wrap it’s useless. btw if you make yog that sets at room temp and not the ones that need heat then this would probably be perfect

Easy - and no more big plastic yogurt pots to dispose of...
My first batch was a bit runny as I think it had become too cool overnight - but, the second attempt was just right. I used whole milk and heated slowly using the thermometer to check - when cooled to right temperature added a tablespoon of Aldi Greek yogurt and some honey.Once in the thermal jacket I wrapped it in a towel and put inside the cardboard delivery box it came in - with a hot water bottle. Covered with another folded towel and left it. The yogurt had thickened after just 4 hours but I left it for another couple of hours. Gorgeous - really pleased!

Leaking lid and slow customer service
The lid did not screw on properly so yoghurt leaks everywhere even when you tilt the jar. Customer service was very slow, over a few weeks, but they eventually replaced the set. Thank you.

Don't waste your money!
This product was a total waste of time and money. The instructions are minimal, the glass jars very poor (not dishwasher-proof, and break if put in hot water). The only thing worth having is the thermometer, but even that is very basic.I tried to make yoghurt, but is is a real faff! Heated milk to the required temperature, then waited ages for it to cool down. Put it in glass jar, and the temp dropped significantly, added yoghurt and put it in the thermal sleeve. Never got any yoghurt as it remained runny... very disappointing...Considering the cost of supermarket basic live yoghurt, and the cost of milk, there isn't much saving in making your own yoghurt... I'm back to buying mine ready-made.

Perfect yoghurt first time!
I've had an electric maker for about 30 years which I love but it feels as though the electrics aren't happy so looked for an alternative. What a find!I heat my milk in the microwave. As there's less milk than my electric maker took, which I didn't register, I put it in for the same amount of time and so it had been boiling for a while i think by the time I took it out. I thought I might have messed things up.I then left it to cool and left it too long so zapped it again in the microwave to reach the required temperature. In my excitement to use the new kit, I had it going at 3pm, forgetting I'd be asleep when it was ready. I woke at 3:30am and remembered the yoghurt so ran to the kitchen and put it in the fridge before going back to bed. After all of these mistakes I was anticipating slightly off-flavoured milk. But no! Perfect yoghurt!I love it!!!!! I'll be able to take this maker camping with me too which is a massive bonus. So all of the precise rules about what you have to do would appear to be somewhat flexible :)

Effective
Easy to use. Makes perfect yoghurt, but heat up jar first. Plus, I also wrap in a dish towel to keep in the heat.

Zwei Mal gekauft. Zwei Mal der Fall.
