I love that it has a clear base instead of the wood and that it is white light only. I bought one to test because of the reviews, but glad I tried and will be ordering more. I wanted it for my crystal spheres. It really does the trick as you can see from the photos (compare photos with the light on vs switched off).One review mentioned that the light visible from the base detracts from the item placed on it, I can kinda see what the person meant, but I can’t say it’s a huge negative or detracts from the item and is par for the course of having a clear base. Besides, it’s only really visible if you look at it from below/ completely side on.One thing that would have been awesome is if they had a clear power cord instead of the white, but if you can hide the cord. It’s not the end of the world.

THE GOOD1. Bright lights! Very bright.2. The lights are adjustable on the Kelvin scale, from soft white, to daylight, to cool light (a mix of the other two).3. The illumination level is adjustable.THE BAD1. The illumination level at its lowest is still very bright.2. The base is made from acrylic and will scratch.3. The transparency of the acrylic makes it impossible to hide the electrical connections from view. This is fully transparent from top down.THE UGLY1. No power adapter. Just a USB connection.2. The price. $20 for this when so many other options are 1/4 to 1/2 the price. Unless you are very specific like I am, and want a white-light only option, there are many other types on Amazon between $5 and $10 just as cheaply made. Plus, most of the others come with a power adapter.

Love the clear base. Instead of being distracted by a cumbersome wooden base you’re automatically focused on the piece being displayed. Really shows off what’s intended. Adjustable lighting is a plus. Exceptionally pleased with purchase!

Generally liked this display for my agates. The sheernesswas somewhat of a problem because of the light shining through the sides and into the eyes when seated.
