Work only on fruit flies.
Found out the pesty critters we had were gnats. These did not work on the gnats. Ended up using a spray that kills gnats and sticky yellow cards that attract them and they can not excape the stickyness. I have used these a couple of years ago on fruit flies. They did capture many flies and eventually got rid of them. Suggest befor investing in them to search the web for pictures of gnats and fruit flies to assure you have fruit flies.

Traps work ok, missing chemical safety information and can cause stains.
This product works as described. I have two issues with it.1. It does not list the chemical contents anywhere on any of the packaging. This is a big safety issue if you have kids or pets that might get the chemicals on their skin or ingest them. This is scary not knowing what they contain.2. They have added a red dye to the chemical insert. There seems to be no reason for this. One of them tipped over making a nasty stain on my counter. Was able to clean it up with bleach but if this spilled on carpet or fabrics could cause damage.

Doesn’t work
Don’t waste your money. The previous rendition worked but this design with the one open hole and the supposed Terro liquid which is red in color vs. the previous clear color one simply catches zero fruit flies. None, nada, null. Sitting surrounded by these apples for a week looking at fruit flies swarming me before I gave up and offered the flies cheap Scotch. They loved that and drowned. Tossed out all of these useless “traps “. Now enjoying expensive Scotch.

These seemed to do the trick.
I bought these to get rid of the horrible fruit fly problem we had. I managed to get one that had drowned in a drink, and looked at it under a magnifying glass...then compared that to images online, so I knew that they were fruit flies and not the drain flies. After about four days (maybe longer) it didn't seem like they were doing anything, so I poured a tiny bit of honey in each apple, making sure not to move (or even touch) them while doing so. I don't know if that is what did the trick, or had I waited longer, these bad boys would have done the trick on their own. However, they did work! Within about a week they were mostly gone. We left them out for about six weeks or so. Since then, I've been trying to be good about washing produce right after we bring it into the house, but now we have them again. So I just placed another order. I highly recommend these!
