Q: Can someone clarify whyh these can’t go in the laundry and if there is any danger to garments or machine (as I’ve accidentally forgot to remove mine!)

They are like wonder web that you iron on to cover a hole in a garment or take up a hem. They will some away in the warm/hot water in washing, just look for them in the drum or the filter.
