Well, all I can say is the thing worked so far - though it's only been a few weeks and bonnet opened a few times. My mechanic had already removed the old one and so I was able to check the measurements before ordering - for a 2005 Focus. One the mechanic opened the bonnet again with a screwdriver (as no lock) he fitted this replacement in very quick time. If you own a focus, and this fits, then might be worth buying as spare so you have it when you need it. Apparently The Focus is notorious for this. I paid for the quicker delivery and it was there in two days (no post strikes at the time)

Quite a sturdy cable between the lock and the latch release. Does what it says on the tin.Only gripe was that only one of the notches that hold it in place actually clipped on, but it is held in place by its own shape, and had no issues opening and closing the bonnet multiple times.

Fit perfect and is still working unlike last one that broke after 2 weeks

Bought this when the lock on my Ford Focus bonnet stopped working. After watching several youtube tutorials I decided to replace this locking mechanism myself, getting the bonnet open and removing the old lock was a manageable challenge if you're mechanically minded. Fitting the new lock once the old one was removed was fairly easy! I guess is took an hour or so in total and saved quite a bit of money, as some garages will apparently break your front grill to get the bonnet open!

My lock stopped working about 2 years ago, I have been using a screwdriver to open my bonnet.Finally decided to order the part and have a go at fixing it. Such an easy job, part was easy to fit and good quality. The only this is I have a separate key to open bonnet, you can buy a kit that you build around your key but it look complicated. Highly recommend.
