Helps hands with arthritis
I bought these over a year ago because I needed something to make my iPad, Kindle and cell phone styluses more comfortable to use with my extremely arthritic hands. I'm 65 and have very severe arthritis.Long ago, I gave up pencils because of the difficulty using them, and I have numerous Pilot Dr. Grip pens all over my home and in my desk at the office, so there wasn't a problem with writing. But I like to use a stylus for writing on my tablets and phone because my fingers don't do well on the mini-keyboard.I did a lot of research and tried different things; some were too small and I needed something larger for my fingers to hold (kind of like a kid); some were tacky and had an unpleasant feel; some were impossible to get onto the stylus; and some just didn't do the job because they were too narrow on the stylus. So I tried these in the small and jumbo versions. The small didn't cut it, but the jumbo did.So I'm coming back for another couple of sets. It's worth the cost, even if I'm not a kid learning to write.

Wonderful help!
I'm a lettering artist who has gotten really bad carpal tunnel from overwork. These are a fantastic help! They cut down on a lot of my pain and have let me begin to get back to my work after nearly a year off. I use them upside down, with the bulb near the point of my pen or pencil. This gives me the widest grip with the least pressure. I wish I had known about these a few years ago. I think they would have prevented my injury and helped me learn a healthier, more ergonomic grip. Even if you don't have arthritis, they would help a great deal with hand fatigue for students or artists that spend hours a day with a pen in hand. What do they fit on? Pretty much any standard pencil or pen. I use them with my paint brushes, wrapping the brush handle in a few layers of masking tape or duct tape to thicken the shaft. I managed to wiggle one down onto a nib holder so I can do calligraphy, and they're fantastic to use with feather quills which were uncomfortable to write with before I hurt my wrist.

Very helpful for arthritic hands
I bought these to use with mu smaller paintbrushes. My hands are getting arthritic and painting for very long with smaller brushes makes them ache. These grips also makes my brushes stay in place instead of rolling around on my worktable. I'm very pleased with them.

These are the pencil/pen grips you want!
I'm having problems with arthritis and a torn ligament. I tried several products - these are the only ones that work well to allow me to get a grip, and also aids positioning fingers into the right placement. I also appreciated the slight stickiness to aid gripping onto the pencil grip. Rate #1I also tried a small egg shaped foam grip but its hard to get onto a pencil/pen and doesn't position fingers, Rate #2;and I tried the giant ergonomic pen for arthritis, which contours to the hand, but doesn't aid finger placement which would make it easier to hold onto, and it was the most expensive of the products I tested Rate #3;finally I tested the rubber egg shape with a slit to place objects into it. I didn't like it for writing, but it would work better for tools, kitchen gadgets, etc. .

Great for my carpal tunnel syndrome
This grip has been a wonderful aid in my recovery from carpal tunnel surgery. The oversized design allowed my fingers to cradle around it, and I loved that it is the only grip to support up to the PIP joint. It was a bit difficult to fit over my pen, but with a twisting force I was able to get it. Although it can be used in the left or right hand, the fit is not quite the same on the left. Still, it is a great support to use for painful fingers and hands where extensive writing is required.

It does not seem to help people who grip pencil too tight
I have always used too much pressure holding my pen. All of my teachers tried to get me to ease off. I hold the pencil correctly but too tight and now that I am older I have difficulty holding a pencil for a long time. I had hoped that these pencil grips would help with the cramp I get in my index finger when I write. It has not. My pencil has to be weighted just right or I have difficulty holding the pencil. These grips have added little too much weight. Maybe it is just a matter of getting used to them.

I use these at work and they are great! I do lots of writing and used to get calluses on my middle finger from holding my pen! This really helps! I love these!!

Amazed at how well they work
I was surprised by how well they work. I bought them at the suggestion of my physiotherapist, who is treating me for a diffuse thumb and wrist RSI. I have small hands, so these were about perfect for me (someone with average size or larger hands would probably find them a bit small, but for me they are great), and I find them easy to use. I expected that. What I did not expect was how much easier they make the act of writing.I have sensory-motor type dysgrapia. Learning how to write by hand was a challenge (and I never was able to master cursive, which I maintain is pronounced curse-ive for a reason), and writing anything has always been a literal pain for me. The pain would start in the base of my thumb and spread down my arm until the entire forearm was severely painful. I've learned as an adult this is due to my repetitive stress injury, which I've had for who-knows-how-long. I do not remember a time when writing was not at least moderately painful for me, so I've probably had it since I started school as a kid, but recently it worsened.I got the RSI because I am bad at judging where my fingers are and what my hands are doing (that's my dysgraphia), so I'd grip too tightly to compensate. Gripping too tightly gives me the feedback I need to not send the pen flying across the room, but puts a lot of strain on the thumb and wrist, which led to my RSI.These grips have enough friction and heft to them that I can feel what my fingers are doing. It's a case of I didn't realize how much I over-grip until I didn't have to. I would recommend these grips for anyone with small hands and my type of dysgraphia.
