You can use a knife or a tool to pen the back cover, and change the battery carefully.

Q: Does it work for daylight savings time?

You wind it yourself, so yes. It fell apart and stopped working after about 2 months. From my review: "As I suspected it broke after about 2 months. Pieces kept falling off, the leaf was gone after about 3 weeks, the center clock-piece kept falling off until I got the proper tools to tighten it against the straps. I wore it fairly regularly, so if you purchase it as a jewelry piece it may last you a little longer. If you're going for an every day watch, I would HIGHLY recommend NOT getting it.

Q: How do you get the back off to replace battery?

You can use a case opener tool or a knife to pry up the back cover, and then carefully put the battery on the position where the previous battery is on.
