this 6+9 just a cable with the one side obd 16pin and other side are 6pin and 9pin J1708 and J1962 port

Q: What scan tool is this compatible with? Have a usb to obd currently and it will not connect.

Your scan tool must be able to convert J1939 - J1708 and J1962 transmission protocols These cables are just a pass through.
