Classic 80's gorefest at its finest!
First of, just allow me to say that this movie is extremely gruesome. And violent. Think 28 Days Later mixed with Evil Dead and you're on the right track. Still, it's not one for weak stomachs.Demons is one of those 80's horror movies that's an ideal for a fun movie night with friends. It's bloody, it's violent, it's insane, it's... a TON of fun regardless of whether you're watching it alone or with company. The 4K remaster looks absolutely fantastic, too!

Best version yet!
Demons/Demoni 2021 UHD+BD Arrow Blu-ray.If you wondered if you really need another release of this classic then the answer is YES! This is to date the best version I have purchased and there have been many since the 1986 UK VHS. This is my favourite horror film of all time and opened my eyes to the weird and wonderful world of Italian cinema.I read this had a reversible slip cover and wasn’t sure how that would work, basically you just turn it around (not fold it inside out!) for the original artwork or the new design.Theses a black case inside with a reversible cover and 20 page booklet. The barcode and 18 rating is a sticker on the outside shrink wrap, there’s new artwork on the discs. The advertised Japanese souvenir programme is digital, not an actual printed copy.I’m not yet Ultra HD ready but as this also has a Blu-ray Disc it makes a great purchase so I don't have to upgrade again in the future. The 4K restoration on the standard Blu-ray is a huge upgrade from previous Arrow versions I have had, the detail and clarity is amazing, it even beats the 2014 Synapse version which was my Demons holy grail. No horrible grain (which some Blu-ray enthusiasts really like as film has grain) the picture is bright and sharp, people in background shots are clear, I can see fabric designs on cast members in dark shots that were blurred before, and can even count the background trees in the final road shot as the credits roll. The International English version (my personal favourite) audio in 5.1 & 2.0 is great, dialogue and sound effects are crystal clear, but the background score is quieter, much quieter than the Synapse release, which is the only flaw for me.The US version is in mono, I just don’t like that version so I have not watched it to rate it. Italian is available in 5.1 & 2.0 with subtitles.Whatever version you are used to it’s all here. The trailers have been given the same upgrade as the film, everything looks new, only the fashion, music & cars remind you this was first released in 1985.3 different commentaries, I could not bear the new one by two podcasters not involved with the origami film, the other two are good listening. The new 27 min visual essay has some good clips in the background but the narrator doesn’t stop talking over them hardly taking a breath. The older interviews from Dario Argento, Claudio Simonetti & Luigi Cozzi are short but great viewing. If new artwork is not your thing then just turn the inner sleeve and slipcase the the way, it’s good to offer something new but the original is iconic.Unlike the split box edition, this dose not come with the hard back book or golden Metropol ticket, regardless of packaging extras the film is the most important part and comes in both UHD & Blu-ray Discs, and it’s never looked better! This has something to please all fans and is worth the upgrade.Note, the thick slipcover only opens at the bottom, great to keep dust out, the case is in there snugly and shouldn’t just drop out when picking it up.Can’t wait to see the UHD disc when I can get a player and upgrade the TV, for now the Blu-ray Disc looks amazing on my older equipment. I hope this was helpful if you’re not sure what this release offers or still have a standard Blu-ray player & TV like me. This new release worth every penny.

Great film, and a solid release by Arrow.
This gem from 1986 has been given the 4K treatment, and it delivers.Plenty of special features, and a selection of commentary tracks. The picture quality is fantastic. The HDR really pops on an OLED TV, particularly when contrasted against the blacks.I've compared this to the digital version on Prime, and this blows it away.Audio is good, and takes advantage of a decent sound setup.Highly recommend this release of Demons by Arrow.
