Nice all-rounder
There is nothing to fault with this cymbal for the price. I got mine open box for around 120 shipped, and has the new Sabian logo on the bottom. For all I could tell it looked brand new. It has a good sound for many styles of music, an ok sounding bell, and is even somewhat crash-able I'd say, or at least if you crashed it by accident it wouldn't sound as bad as a lot of rides can. Versatile, and competent is how I would describe this cymbal. And no annoying overtones I can hear after months of playing at home, live, and even recorded; it just works. Over the years I've had a Sabian XS20 20 inch medium ride, Sabian AA 20 inch medium ride, Avedis Zildjian 21 inch Rock ride, 60's era Zildjian 20 inch ride, and a Paiste PST5 20 inch medium ride. None of them could quite beat the XSR in terms of both versatility and sound quality, so this XSR ride has kept it's place on my kit.Update: I stayed on my kit for about a year, but the Zildjian 22 inch S Rock ride has dethroned it. I decided the XSR washes out too much when performing live, the ping just doesn't project enough. The Zildjian S has a MUCH better bell and the ping just sounds so good, plus it even crashes better even despite being much bigger and heavier. These are just my thoughts though, so take them as you will. Happy drumming!

Clean sounding cymbal reminiscent of the old style that are long gone. Love it.
I'd been casually looking for a nice sized ride for some time. If you like old Zildjain stuff, you'll like this one. It's clean with just enough bell, nice balance with out too much ping but clean sound with out the noise. its ring is very controlled but enough comes through. Not so much a head banger as it is versatile. I love it for swing, fusion, rock, and anything else. Sabian captures a wonderful quality that seems to have eluded cymbal makers for years. Just super clean. It complements our other cymbals nicely. You get a wonderful product for the money, especially in today's economy. Sabian also manages consistency in their products. Two of the same model and size sound similar. Even the 21" sounded so close with a slightly larger sound. The other maker is all over the place with no two sounding the same and some of them quite noisy. These are much cleaner.
