The Gerber Silver Trident Knife is a high-performance combat knife designed for Special Ops personnel, featuring a 6.18-inch double-edged blade made from heat-treated 154CM stainless steel. Its advanced Hytrel handle offers both strength and extreme grip control, while the stainless steel butt cap provides additional utility as a hammer. Built to withstand the harshest conditions, this knife is the perfect tool for those who demand reliability and precision.

Gerber Silver Trident double serrated edge.
The knife is made of 154CM which is a high quality stainless steal. As far as how sharp the knife, it was really sharp just shy of razor sharp. It seems that this steal in terms of it's sharpness is rated just below S30V. Do not be fooled into thinking that this knife does not hold a great edge though. I had submitted quite a few cutting tests. The knife did not function as well as I had hoped on the paper test, but I soon realized that it is because the knife has a thick blade on it (Don't get me wrong it still cut through the paper fairly nicely and retained a great edge). I next moved on to cutting some bark off of a tree (numerous times). This is were I got a little excited. It cut like warm butter. I had to use little force to make the cuts. I then went to the apple skin test. I was peeling the apple easily. The peels were so thinly sliced. It was a thing of beauty. The knife was extremely well balanced and it was some what of a lighter knife considering the size, than smaller knifes that I have. The saw like blade on the back of the blade is really sweet too. I had cut numerous branches off a tree, and those came down really quite easily. The handle of the knife is really comfy and it does not slip. This is another highlight of the knife. Also the stainless steal butt end is really nice, you can smash stuff with it. It sort of acts as a hammer. In the end the knife is still as sharp as when I got it. If I lost this knife I would get it again. It is a good all around utility-survival knife. To review.-High quality stainless steal.-Great balance and weight.-Awesome grip on the handle.-Saw like serration on back side of blade.-Retains edge very well.

Gerber Silver Trident Review
We do a lot of training with knives for law enforcement as well as military, it is always a challenge to find a knife that lives up to what the manufacture claims it will do. I have been wanting to get my hands on the Silver Trident for quite some time now and when it finally happened I was blown away. The feel of this knife is one of great balance and comfort the handle conformed to my hand instantly, the guard allows you to feel safe either bare handed or with gloves on, even large padded gloves. The blade is perfect as far as I am concerned extremely durable and holds a great edge, even after many cut test, that I put it through. The striker pommel is great for having to break out glass or drive a stake in the ground. We consider every piece of gear we carry to be a tool and the Silver Trident has fast become my favorite tool. It would be impossible to select just one knife as the best of the best, however if you wished to do so the Silver Trident by Gerber would have to be in the top 3.....

Gerber Ttident
Nice knife but really cheap sheath for the price Gerber can do better! Also I don't like all the Chinese made knives they sell please make more products in the U .S . A . That's the only reason I bought this one because it's made in the USA!!!!

Poor Handle, Solid Blade and Quality
Poor handle compared to KaBar knives. Excessive twisting and movement during regular usage. I have no delusion of being a US Navy SEAL, but I expected much, much more from this knife. On the other hand, the blade is solid and as long as you build up the handle it is a quality cutting instrument.Overall, I regret the purchase, but that was my decision.

Silver Trident
I am impressed with the quality of the materials used and the fit and finish ofthis knife. It is light weight. The handle provides a very good grip. The sharpness given this knife , as is usual for Gerber, is exceptional. I alsolike the sharpening and serrations on the back edge. This is a very capable weapon/tool.One thing I would have liked, to seen as part of the package, was a sharpening deviceincluded in the pouch provided for it on the sheath.

Nearly Indistructible Blade
I have been a knife enthusiast for as long as I can remember my favorite knife has been the Natchez Bowie knife its pricey (approximately $660) but its worth it because of its durability but know I have found my pride The Silver Trident its blade is extremely durable, powerful, and deadly its one of the best knives out there it is by far the most balanced blade I have ever had the pleasure of owning it is more durable than the Natchez Bowie knife that people claim is indestructible. I tried the Silver Trident against a thin sheet of steel (1/4 centimeter thick) even after stabbing the thin sheet of steel the Silver Trident's edge remained moderately sharp this blade combines balance, power, and durability the Natchez Bowie knife has surpassed all my tests until recently its blade was severely chipped when I was cutting wood because I accidentally hit my stone pedestal (what I cut wood on) it just goes to show the most expensive items are not always the best. The Silver Trident is by far the best combat knife out there.

Silver Trident
Very impressive blade and construction. The matte finish on the pommel is a nice touch and the balance of the knife is very good. I would have preferred a more Ka-Bar like grip profile than the finger grooves but that is very minor. Grip texture feels really good and does cushion the hand. Blade edge was very sharp, no honing needed. The scabbard is very difficult to withdraw the knife, this also makes it difficult to lose by accident, a quick and hard tug will get the blade deployed.

Perfect Combat/Tactical Knife
Pros:-Egonomic and grippy handle-Razor sharp out of the box-Excelent quality control-Sheath locks the knife in perfectly, has a snap closure in case the lock fails-Perfect size, weight, and balance for a combat knife-High end stainless steel blade will hold a good edge and will be tough enough for hard use applicationsCons:-The cord on the sheath is just a shoelace instead of paracord-The belt loop is retained with Velcro only, would be better if it were Velcro and a snapNotes:-This is really only suitable for a combat/tactical knife, I would not recommend purchasing this knife for bushcraft/firecraft, camping, skinning or anything but for use as a combat/tactical knife.

I especially like the ergonomics of the knife
This knife has an extremely tough blade, is well constructed, and looks phenomenal. I especially like the ergonomics of the knife: it fits very nicely into the hand. It is also very well balanced: you feel like you won't lose the knife easily. You get what you pay for here. It is a very solid knife. But the sheath! Sigh. Cheap nylon, poorly made, looks like you could buy one at the dollar store. And I don't understand what all the Velcro is for, perhaps someone could help me out with that.

The best, sharpest blade I have
The best, sharpest blade I have, but this is a tactical weapon and not really a survival knife. For bushcraft, I prefer my SOG Seal Elite or the SOG Seal Elite Pup (a fabulous very lightweight alternative). Both are superb knives with excellent blades that come a close second to the Silver Trident's blade. The sheath is not my favourite. If they had provided a sheath like the one in the Gerber Infantry 2, I would have given it 5 stars. I carry the Infantry 2 more than any other knife I have due to its superb sheath that fits around my calf or thigh or on my belt. The Infantry 2 also cost 1/4 the price and comes with an integrated sharpener.

A nice addition!
Is as advertised. Arrived in new flawless shape. A great collectible. Certainly not something you'd ever carry in public.
