A reasonable replacement for a rainbird valve
I purchased this item expecting to use the valve part of the item to replace a failing valve on my rainbird sprinkler. It seemed to be a perfect replacement for the APAS-075 valve which isn't available anymore from rainbird. My plan was to unscrew the valve part of the item from the base to replace the leaking valve on my existing rainbird valve. This would avoid having to replace the entire valve and anti-siphon unit. However, when it arrived, I discovered that the valve was not removable there was no threads on that part of the unit. It was all one piece. The supplier was happy to let me return the unit for credit (did have to pay for return shipping). This is a warning for anyone that is trying to do what I wanted to do. Another site is selling the valve with threads, but they want a great deal more for it even without the body.

Expensive, prone to breakage, not very pleased.
First off I have made two separate orders from Amazon for this. Each time they have shipped a bag marked that it's a 3/4" anti-siphon valve yet what they shipped is actually the 1". Unfortunately it seems that some units are misbagged.Taking that out of the mix though I bought a house that has these and have had to replace probably 5-7 of them in the past couple of years. They always seem to crack on the bottom which results in a lot of water spraying out of it when it's on. Only reason I keep buying them and replacing them is that I haven't found an easy alternative that won't make me chop off larger sections of pipe and repipe due to the distance between the in and out pipes. If it were one or two that this happened to I'd say maybe it's just a random event but based on the # of failures and it always being the same spot will avoid there wherever I can in the future.

I was able to unscrew the valve section from this ...
I was able to unscrew the valve section from this and directly screw it on to my old valve without having to replace the whole assembly. I did not replace my old anti-siphon side. That did not fit on my old valve.

An excellent fit
This valve is a perfect fit as a replacement for the obsolete rainbird valve which is no longer made. It allows a repair without the necessity of a complete repipe.

Female cap
The selinoid side worked fine but the female screw on cap was to big? I had to glue the old cap back together
