This product is intended to control humidity in small, enclosed spaces. I use them cartridges to suck the moisture out of my gun safe and the closet where I store ammo. For these applications, it works quite well. I picked up the starter pack (base + two cartridges), plus an extra cartridge. This gives me the ability to swap a good one in while drying another.I'm in Michigan, so the humidity is not awful here. During the Winter months, my guess I am drying the cartridges once every three weeks. In the Summer, I run a whole-house dehumidifier with a couple of Eva-Dry EDV-2400 (electric) units in the basement to take the edge off. If you live in a high-humidity region like the the southeast, you will be drying much more frequently. If you're protecting anything valuable, check for saturation regularly.The base unit does, indeed, dry the saturated cartridges really fast. This a GREAT solution for safes and other enclosed environments!

I’ve used products like this for years but always hated the long refresh times. This system solves that. Rather than 12 hours, 2 hours has you back in business. Very affordable too. I have a number of these in all the places where humidity is a cause for concern. Closets in particular. Also, I’ve had problems with buildup in my safe in the past. One of these solved that problem. This system is well worth the money.

This is an add on for people that have purchased the Eva dry set that comes with two of these and a plug in fast dryer unit. Only buy this if you already have that. If you don't have the dryer, you will not have what you need to recharge it. I have 9 of these total and they work great in safes and in large sealed storage boxes, like ammo cans, also.

I’m convinced the four units I have in my safe is a bit of overkill but in our humid summer weather in Appalachia justifies their use.Very happy with how well they work and protect the safe contents from moisture.Very easy to “recharge” with the drying unit from the initial order.

Bought this extra cartridge to go with the "drying base" system I purchased. I used it in a small closet (3'x2'x7'). It got completely saturated in about 3 days (a DampRid hanging bag in the same closet lasts about 3 weeks or more). So, I put it on the drying base. It's supposed to "recharge" in 20 minutes. I left it on the base for over 90 minutes and it was nowhere near "recharged", based on the color of the beads. I returned everything, as the other cartridges had the same issue. I was hoping for a re-usable solution, since DampRid cant ship to CA any more. Guess I'll keep looking!
