Q: I only have one outlet in my van so I have a 3-way splitter. Is it ok to plug this in one of the outlets in the splitter?

I don't see why not. Be aware, if you're using the other outlets in the 3 way, at the same time, the combined load on the van's lighter circuit adds up. Too much total load (amps) could blow the lighter circuit fuse.

Q: Can you plug a standard size male into it?

In a word - Yes. The unit is robust and well made. I have 3 of them.

Q: There's a fuse inside?

Yes there is. An 8 Amp 250 volt standard buss fuse in the tip (male end). I bought 1 of these to use with my Ham Radio. The fuse is not large enough (need 20 Amp). However after getting the first, I bought another. I think you could tow a vehicle with this if needed. Not sure what the wiring is rated for, wold like it to be 12 ga so I could replace the fuse with up to 20 amp. May experiment with it to see if it gets hot. Living on the edge :)
