Algreen vs Lechuza Self Watering Pots. Both Good for Overwaterers
I have a lot of pots. Most of my pots are either Algreen or Lechuza because I like having a water reservoir. I am an overwaterer, at least I was until I started buying self-watering pots. It is still possible to overwater with a water reservoir, so I make sure that the top soil is dry before I fill the reservoir. I only have to water every 1 to 3 weeks with my self-watering pots. My fast growing herbs typically need watering once a week while my slower growing plants are okay for 2 to 3 weeks. Both brands are expensive but the time savings and aid with moisture control is worth it for me. I killed plants for years until I bought these pots.Algreen vs Lechuza:- Country of origin: Algreen pots are made in China, while Lechuza pots are made in Germany.- Pon: The Lechuza pots come with Pon (basically fancy gravel) that is supposed to make the self-watering system work better. I bought a large bag of Pon off Amazon that I use when I reuse a Lechuza pot or buy an Algreen pot.- Price: The Algreen pots are typically about $10 cheaper for the same size pot.- Quality: I have not noticed a difference. The water level indicator is almost identical and works just as well in both.- Style: The Lechuza pots tend to be better looking.Summary: I prefer my Lechuza pots. However, I buy a lot of pots, so typically I go with whichever one is one sale.

Well, Not So Great for Me
Perhaps the criticism mentioned here will not apply to many. But in my case I have had an awful time trying to assemble this thing. It has way more parts than it needs although I am impressed with the creation of something so over the top sometimes I think just because you can invent something you need not invent everything. I used to have one of these that had just the hole to water. Just want to caution those who, like me, handicapped, old etc. consider that this device doesn’t assemble itself. I’ll report back if I get it together.

It is what it is... Nice planter
No hiccups. Slow to arrive, but this was outlined on Amazon, so it wasn't a surprise. All was great otherwise,.

Let your plant drink when its thirsty
This planter is well made. It's sturdy, light weight and stylist. I am using this planter with Lechuza Pon. It didn't take my Bird of Paradise must time to adapt to the Pon. I would recommend the product.

Necessary for water demanding plants
Best planter ever and easy water indicator. I originally ordered this for a maidenhair fern I was going to purchase but instead planted a gardenia in it. I had had the gardenia for a few months and it kept dropping leaves because I kept forgetting to water it every 3 days, it was much more demanding than other plants I own. Once I transplanted it into this planter, it was doing great. There's the red piece of plastic that tells you whether the water levels getting low and you simply top it up when you get a chance.I do own some of the aqua globes and they're not as easy as this planter. They have to be refilled often, don't hold as much water as this planter, and often times get clogged with dirt. Don't get me wrong they are a good cheap alternative and will definitely work but they're not ideal. While I wouldn't buy these for all my plants, as much as I would like to, because they're expensive, for plants that need almost consistence moisture, they make a world of difference.

Great planter
It is really the best pot. Pricey but worth it. My plant is very happy and lush. Very easy to assemble.

Expensive but nice
Not as nice as the style with the fully removable inner pot, but I got a lot of these for an apartment where I needed to carefully control water run off. They have a drain for excess water so plants won't drown in the rain (run off isn't a problem if it's already raining). The water level indicators can get stuck but come loose with a tap, and work better than the other two brands I have used with them.

A great product if it arrives complete
Note - the item is often delivered incomplete. You'll either get the pot but not the water measure and substrate or you'll get those but not the pot. I've ordered at least 6 of these and three times the items were sent incomplete. Now that we have that grudge laid out. Here's the review when the item is actually complete. This product is great for plants that require moist soil at all times. The build quality is brilliant and will probably last a while unless you plant a ZZ plant in it.Bear in mind that the actual depth is at least 1 1/2 inch shorter than advertised as that space is for the water container.

Very easy to assemble and after two months of watering like ...
Very easy to assemble and after two months of watering like a normal pot plant through the soil the roots will have grown down through the pon layer into the water reservoir, after which you can just fill it up through the funnel on the side of the pot till the indicator shows max and you're good for up to almost 3 months in the winter and 2 months in summer, it makes looking after your plants a doddle I have a 1.3 metre Kentia Palm happily growing in mine, 10/10 for looks and practicality

Transformed me from Plant Killer to Plant Grower
I am so good at killing houseplants, that my husband banned me from buying any more, because he felt it was a cruel and unnatural death for the poor plants.I was allowed to try again, just once, because I wanted to get some air purifying plants. So, I bought this, and a plant. 3 months later, and the plant is flourishing, and I've bought loads and loads more of these pots in all colours shapes and sizes.

Amazing
These pots are absolutely fantastic. We had two Birds of Paradise that were really unhappy, bought these, and now 6 months later they’re 3 times the size. Can’t recommend enough, and have gone to buy half a dozen more.
