Best Hikes Rocky Mountain National Park: A Guide to the Park's Greatest Hiking Adventures (Regional Hiking Series)

Well organized with good trail information.

Great overview of various hiking destinations throughout the RMNP. This will be our first trip to RMNP to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service and we are very excited! The book is divided into regions is a great help, too. The color photos are very captivating. Lots of detail and geographic/historical highlights. I already have given it to my sister and bro-in-law to review and they are also excited to read! Because I don't have the book in front of me at the moment, I can't recall whether information is included on what to do about hiking in such high elevations and dealing with ultra thin air.

Great book. Good information provided about Estes Park in general. Hikes are easily found and travelled with directions provided. Two downfalls with the book (reason for 4/5 stars): not every hike possible is listed in the book and the difficulty level severely under estimates the accurate level of effort needed for each hike. For example, a ‘moderatley easy’ hike was a constant uphill for ~1000 ft. Good info, but be ready to hike!

Had one day and found a great 6 mile loop trail from the Bear Lake Trailhead. Many great hikes in the book, hope to try more some day.

Just spent a week in RMNP hiking and did several of these hikes. Very useful. Good maps and index.

Small & concise aid.

The book is probably great for day hikes, but not very useful for extended backcountry trips (backpacking). It's confusing and difficult to try to piece together short hikes into a through hike or a circuit, especially away from the trailheads.

One of the best hiking guides I've ever used. The information is very well organized and it's very thorough. It doesn't include a detailed map of the entire park, but I did acquire the Rocky Mountain National Park Hiking Map to use in conjunction. I may have more feedback after I actually go on the hiking trip, but I feel like I have a very good plan due to this guide and the map.
