Spring And Summer

A Nice Change of Pace
I like Switchfoot a lot, but really this music is much different. It is a lot more in depth in regards to Jon's spiritualiy and emotions. He doesn't hold anything back, well I guess even if he did we wouldn't really know either way. There's no rock and roll and loud smack-your-mama guitar, and there's no banging of the drum. This is just mostly accustic work, but very intricate, not just strumming away with poetry added. It is very artistic, and some of the songs are sad. They make you think. "March", "In My Arms", "Baptize My Mind", "Revenge", and "Intead of a Show" were my favorites, but all the tracks were good. I recomend this and also "Fall and Winter". I can't really compare the music to anything else I've heard so far, except the songs sort of give the same vibe as the Switchfoot song "Vice Verses".

Honest, raw music
The thing I most respect about Jon's solo stuff is that he is honest. What I mean by that is that he honestly and rawly communicates his experiences and feelings towards certain themes. He his honest about his faith (Your Love is Strong, House of God Forever, and Revenge). He is honest about his struggles with his faith. He is honest in his longing for Heaven while living in a personal Hell or a Hell that we ourselves create in this world (Resurrect Me, Baptize My Mind). And he is honest about love between man and woman (Love Isn't Made, March, In My Arms).A note on the musical style. For those who are used to Switchfoot, this is a lot different. The closest sounding song to Switchfoot is probably Resurrect Me. The rest are all more acoustic and folk based and that doesn't even quite capture the style. Each song has it's own life and style to it. Jon really lets go of the restraints of genre and experiments in these albums.

So much more than just music.
One of my all time favorite musicians. The lyrics are amazing, the instruments are tranquil and fun, and his voice is quite inspiring. I could listen to these two albums and Fall & Winter all day, over and over again, and I would not be bothered a bit. A must have for all music lovers.

Good stuff
I acquired a taste for Jon's voice and writing from Switchfoot and this series doesn't disappoint. The music seems a bit more personal or unrefined than some of the tunes you'll find with Switchfoot, but it's still good stuff from a familiar voice.

Five Stars
Fantastic album. One of the best acoustic albums in the past 10 years IMO

Jon Foreman = amazing.
The lead singer from Switchfoot has gone solo and it is a wonderful thing. I enjoy switchfoot but jon's solo creations resonate with me even more. Soulful, deep melodies, challenging and inspiring lyrics. I give it 5 stars.

Wow
Jon Foreman has truly created a masterpiece with his four seasons albums. This is Switchfoot stripped down to it's core and concentrated into it's purest form. Lyrics that flow beautifully, but still cut to the core. Jon masters the accoustic guitar to perfectly accompany the tone of each song. Finally, Jon's own voice can express raw feeling as good as anyone else singing today.
