I've never done stone work. I looked stuff up. Found pads like these, then looked for a better price and found this product. I used a polisher from Harbor Freight with these pads, water running from a hose over the edges of my project piece which was cutting/resizing a large quartz counter top to repurpose as an island. These polishing pads did the trick. I had to learn a lot, and after going through all the grits I had to redo 400-3000 to get rid of some white haze that remained on all the reworked edges. Very happy with the results as a first timer. Great product. Next day shipping. Fantastic! Many other similar products have complaints about the pads wearing and spinning off. I didn't have much surface (sq ft) to polish, but I had no such issues with these. Maybe the RPM is slower on the tool I used, but whatever the case, these did the trick without issues. Photos show from last step with grinder, then what just these pads did. Everything evened up, flattened off the deep grooves with 50 and then went through other grits. Lots of water was key starting with 400. Be careful. Water and electricity, ya know. ;)

Honestly I wasn’t expecting much out of this product but, I am quite satisfied. I used it to polish thin slabs of quartz rock that I cut from larger pieces of a Boulder I broke up from my yard that I cut on my tile saw so I could make a backlit quartz trim border around my electric fireplace. A lot of work making your own tile.I was very impressed with how quick it gave a nice polished finish. Honestly I originally thought it would take me months to polish the pieces. I bought the grinder mounting disks but my grinder was way to fast and the disks flew off in a very dangerous way. So I Jerry rigged the mounting disk so I could attach it to my drill and it work excellent at that speed. So unless you have a low speed grinder I would highly suggest buying the drill mounting disk. All in all I’m happy with the product and haven’t really noticed any wear on them. Good buy!!

The pads worked well. A little on the small side for big jobs but this size worked great for my needs. I ordered two kits thinking I would wear them out but one kit did the trick.

Velcro backing not strong enough to adequately hold pads on. Had pads fly off grinder with significant force that they could injure a person. In order to safely use a slow speed grinder setting is needed. Instructions did not provide that information. The polishing "nubs" were easily knocked off affecting performance and throwing the grinder out of balance making control of the machine a little more difficult. The out of balance condition caused the pads to fly off even more frequently

I had good success with this product. I used a 7"variable speed buffer / polisher and a wet sponge to keep the counter saturated and worked at 2000 - 2200 RPM. Good results and pads still in good useable condition. I only honed to 200 grit so I so did not use the finer grit pads but pleased with my results.
