Awesome
Currently on Book 3 of the trilogy, but book 1 is a self contained story to buy and find out if you like the setting and writing style. The author really knocked it out of the park, making a new world, with a different species without making half the book about world building. I can tell the author spent a long. LONG. time thinking about this story and setting. Laying out bits of details that are then applied later in the story as you read. Introducing character traits that become important later. I don't want to spoil the story but I enjoyed the writing style and their was only one chapter near the end that felt a bit cramped. Overall its an excellent read about non-humans in SPACE!The art in the book is also fantastic!

(Audiobook) A great performance of an astoundingly well executed book
This is a review for the audiobook version of Skeleton Crew. I have previously purchased and read Skeleton Crew, and the full trilogy. The first novel of a series has to do a lot of carrying, and in this case it's done with ease. A lot of care and thought went into the world building, and it shows. (comfortable) slavery, generation ships, It all comes together in a way that is imminently sensible and believable.Kanti, the main character of the trilogy, goes through a fairly typical Hero's Journey here, but as always it's in the details, and that's where Gre7g's writing and plotting shines. Not just starting in humble circumstances, Kanti doesn't even know how poorly off he is, because he hasn't even considered it ever being better. Though it's only a minor point, the situation of Kanti's apartment really hits hard. His low start creates the stakes when he accidentally gains everything he thought he could want, and has to risk it all to do the right thing.Piers Ryman is a great performer, and it's an absolute boon that Gre7g and Rick have secured his work for further Hayven Celestia books. I was surprised at the voice he gave Commissioner Sarsuk, but I can't say it doesn't fit. Ryman is easy to listen to, and appropriately gives weight to the scenes that need it.

Exciting Story and a Very Cool Universe!
Sci-Fi fans, you have to give Gre7g Luterman’s Skeleton Crew series a try! The entire series is available in audio, performed by the marvelous Piers Ryman, and I highly recommend it. Gre7g Luterman is a new author for me, and I really enjoyed his writing style.Clever and very creative, the first novel, The Kanti Cycle, introduces us to this futuristic, outerspace world. It’s an addictive story, which just got more interesting every step of the way, and I’m a sucker for a terrific hero’s journey tale.As captivating as Kanti’s story is, it’s made even more engaging by Piers Ryman’s narration. Bright and lively (heck, there’s even singing!), Mr. Ryman brings these characters to life. Coming up with unique voices for this vast and varied cast must have been quite a challenge.A fast moving, exciting, and emotional story, I can’t wait to find out what challenges Kanti and his comrades face in the next episode of The Kanti Cycle, Small World.

Exciting Plot and Cast
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel, which may or may not have influenced my perspective of Skeleton Crew. In anycase, it did in a good way. The length of the plot felt appropriate; no area of the story felt filler-y or unnecessary. Each character had their own personality and voice. Some of these characters also appear in Rick Griffin's stories from the same universe, and it's comforting to know their personalities and voices do not different between the two writers. Very nice to see this consistency.I'll definitely be continuing Kanti's tale by investing in the sequels.

Excellent novel!
Highly recommend! Skeleton Crew is an excellent opening to the Kanti Cycle trilogy and a fine addition to the Hayven Celestia universe. Luterman writes start to end with great characters, sweet moments, and expertly-crafted tension. Loved it all the way through -- and thrilled to continue Kanti's journey!

Great introduction to the world of kanti
This book series is awsome.. it's a great set up for the rest of the trilogy. Gre7g Luterman's writing impeachable and Rick Griffins illustrations always convey the impact of situations. Overall it's phenomenal
