We went to Germany last year and our hosts introduced us to raclette. We enjoyed it so much we bought our own and this one works perfectly. Enough for 8 people to cook at the same time. I like to cut up pieces of seasoned filet mignon and that way some people can cook them more than the preferred Dad way (medium rare). We have also grilled prawns, scallops, mushrooms, other veggies...it's just a terrific way to have family dinner, despite the unusual amount of cheese!

I ordered this after going to a raclette dinner party at a friend's home. Very pleased with the operation and appearance of this unit.We cut up steak and chicken into bite-size pieces and then bag them up in marinades. Accompanying that, is buttered sourdough bread to melt cheeses onto, mushrooms, onions, and peppers, etc.Everyone puts what they want on the grill and makes mini-sandwiches with it. The sourdough has been cut and buttered in a size that fits into the side trays. Put some Gouda or Swiss cheese on it and when the cheese is melted put some steak or chicken on and then top it off with the other fixins'. Delicious! While grilling, conversation flows. Everyone willingly gathers around the dinner table to grill, tell stories, and eat...instead of grabbing something and retiring to different corners of the house to eat while playing games on their phones.Cleanup is SUPER easy - the surface wipes right off. We use the included wood paddles to move things around as they sizzle and also have bamboo skewers on the table to assist in that as well.If you buy it thinking you're going to do 1" thick full-size steaks at the table you're going to be disappointed.Try stir-fry size pieces though and you'll be pleased.I think the description says "up to 8 people" or something like that, and that's optimistic. With 3-4 people around one grill, the size and cooking speed are just about perfect.

Buy this. You wont regret it. Make sure you get a good table cloth, it may get a little messy but SO worth it! The little plates are heaters and can cook eggs or melt cheese and corn etc.

This is the fondue pot (party) of the new millennium. I love this piece...I can grill, I can make breakfast, and I can entertain ...it is a great addition to any kitchen especially for those of us that have limited space.

There is a reason this thing keeps showing up with huge discounts, it's absolutely crap. There is a temperature dial, but it might as well be a sparkly disco ball, because you need to turn it full blast to even "slow cook" your food. It never gets hot, no matter how long its on, you can almost touch the griddle and not get burned (BTW - I am NOT suggesting that you touch a hot griddle). There is absolutely no way it can even get hot enough to put a sear on meats or veggies (or anything for that matter), much less the kind of sear that Korean BBQ lovers crave. Food looks and tastes like it was cooked under a hot water tap. The little compartments underneath don't work much better, as it takes 15 minutes to melt a small amount of cheese (20+ if you want a nice toasty skin).Stay away, unless you need a gift for someone you don't like very much.

Love this grill. Sized perfectly for four to use, any more would be too crowded, for the amount of food and timing of consuming it. Great for conversational dinners!

Would not recommend or purchase again. The juice from your food has no place to go but overflow. Makes quite a mess. It needs deeper wells. Very thin material, not as sturdy as I hoped
