MEDGUARD Knee Support for Men Women, Adjustable Open Patella Knee Brace for Joint Pain, Arthritis, Meniscus Tear, ACL, MCL and Injury Rehabilitation Sports

Currently using this for a recent injury to my knee. Wanted one like this which is short, easy to get on and can adjust using velcro however this one I find I have to tighten the velcro really tight in order to get a good fit but then this almost cuts off my blood supply as it hurts and leaves an indentation mark at the back. If I loosen it, it does nothing to support my joint which defeats the purpose so I guess its not working for me.The hole is also quite small for the knee area. I think most knee supports are trial and error and you have to find the right fit for you.

I have had a problem with one of my knees for the last 10 months. There is constant pain all around the kneecap and when I go up or down stairs on a cold day, that knee sometimes threatens to buckle. I have tried about 5 different types of knee supports and this is one of the best ones. I have small knees and the hole in this knee brace fits my knee perfectly. The adjustable velcro straps are also a feature that I find very useful that make this knee support more comfortable than others with tight elastic tops and bottoms.I find this knee brace very comfortable for standing, walking on relatively flat terrain and going downstairs but it is not so easy to go upstairs or engage in any activity that requires a lot of knee-flexing. In spite of this, I have given this product 5 stars because of the way the firm support protects my knee from buckling so I don't fall over - a very useful function for an aging person.

The advantages of this knee brace is that it is well made with velcro support and struts around the exposed patella area. This one-size fits all is easy to put on and remove and far easier than pulling a knee support over the knee.However, this is where the positives end. I found that whilst this support gave me some knee assistance, in order to support well I had to really affix the velcro bands tight. This made it uncomfortable to wear when squatting, around the upper leg area. Plus, strangely, it left the lower part of the patella quite exposed when down in the squat. The hole for the patella is minimal and small. Whilst it fits well around my kneecap, with no gapping, it does mean that knee flexibility is greatly reduced. This has the add-on discomfort of a heavily sweating leg when exercising. Perhaps this support is more appropriate for walking rather than using in a gym. For me, this is not comfortable enough to wear in a gym, doing weights and squats.

This MEDGUARD Knee Support is quite small compared to many knee supports available, it covers from just above the k we to just below. However, it’s difficult to asses it’s effectiveness as I have great difficulty keeping it in place, it is constantly slipping down around my calf
