A realistic account of the apprehension of a murderer
And as usual, Martin Clunes is excellent as the SIO. As we have recently immersed ourselves in the Salisbury Poisonings, The Pembrokeshire Murders, The Dr. Shipman murders, The White House Murders, and the Denis Nielsen murders, this was just as interesting. It was realistic, with the usual false leads, blurred cctv images, media demanding answers, public anxiety, red tape, competition between police forces, and this time conflict of interest between the SIO and his partner. Despite the hours of painstaking research, enough evidence was eventually found to convict the suspect. I thought that although there was nothing spectacularly new about this case, I would recommend it. The SIO telling the parents of the murdered Amelie of a mistake was a brave but worthy thing to do, received with quiet understanding and dignity. I look forward to Series Two.

Fantastic drama
Difficult to say that you "enjoy" a drama which portrays real events and the enormous suffering caused to vulnerable citizens in SE London over 17 years but it was compelling to watch. Thanks to the producers who did not overdo the violence, which would have made it too upsetting for some people to watch.Martin Clunes gave a stellar performance as DCI Colin Sutton. I only hope we still have senior police officers in the Met of this devoted and high standard. Also worth a mention was David Witts who played DC Adam Spier. He was very convincing as a young London detective and I was pleased he played a big part in arresting the psychopath who got away with so much for so long.I hope there are further similar dramas to be made from Colin Sutton's memoirs and that these films give him the wider public applause that he deserves.

as good as the first one
A good oldfashioned detective story, based on a true story, with more than good actors. A more than sordid vile story, but solvedwith dogged policework, no frantic car chases which give the average viewer an epileptic seizure and extensive gun battles, but British crime series at his best. Well done, and no i'm not British.

Horrible tale exceedingly well told.
The cast, the script were superb - well done. Did not dwell on the vile or the sordid but hit home the clinical unrelenting habit of a psychopath. Chilling tale of a seventeen year reign of power inflicting terror and intimidating the weak and the vulnerable. Colin Sutton so well represented by Martin Clunes in his dogged attention to detail. Sympathetically told giving us insight into the struggles of the Met Police Force, understaffed, under valued and yes I am aware of recent criticism of the Met. But well done the script writers and actors in giving us this tale of true life horror on the streets of East London.

EXCELLENT Drama BASED ON A TRUE STORY. The Night Stalker
As with series one, again we have the wonderful Martin Clunes cast again, who I think is a hero and an inspirational Police Officer, in DCI Colin Sutton. The Night Stalker is excellent viewing of true crimes perpetrated against senior people, active for around 17 years in Southeast London from 1992-2009. By a very clever & cruel burglar. The Police Force needs more officers like DCI Sutton. I feel sure they have some. Officers all committed to just doing their job so well with careful thought & being such an ordinary team person. It is an inspiration to know there are Police out there as committed as he was, to be in catching the perpetrator thinking out of the box & not having tunnel vision which must have occurred here as hard as they tried. When a offender has been as active & prolific as this man was fresh eyes is needed by an Officer who can offer more than what has been tried. It just was not working as hard as they tried. That much has to be admitted when someone gets away with crimes for that long. The Night Stalker is a particularly heinous crime affecting the most vulnerable, the elderly. Something we all will become eventually; it is a fact of life. This is a seriously brilliant depiction of what occurred and how it was eventually remedied. Just fantastic to watch. To also see a Psychopath & how easily they fool society with the so many faces they can show which was so well demonstrated when they finally caught him. One moment Mr Charm, the next a vicious psychopath. These offenders just blend in & many around them think they are the pillar of society but Not in this case. Another brilliant series from GB.
