Nickel Free Casual Titanium Buckle (1) by Nickel Smart (Gunmetal Gray)

This appears to be a good belt buckle. It weighs about 25% of similar sized buckles made of stainless steel. The bar that holds the prong in place is of extremely small diameter, leading me to believe it could easily be broken, the way one broke on me a week ago but which was made out of some crappy alloy that had lots of air bubbles in it. I really like it but some features have me worried since I paid about $60.00 for this buckle. It comes with no certification that it is indeed titanium, so I suppose it could be just about anything. It is really beautiful, but damn, that one part looks really weak. One other problem with this buckle is that it is NOT MADE FOR 1 1/2" wide belts. It is made for belts that are 1 5/8" wide. It fits too loosely on standard belts. And it is really hard to find a good quality belt that is 1 5/8" wide. I really can't even use this buckle comfortably on any of the 6 new belts I have recently purchased. Wouldn't you think that if someone had the nerve to ask $60.00 for a damned belt buckle they could at least make sure that the width of the opening on the buckle would accept a standard 1 1/2" belt without making the person trying to make it work look like a slob?

Slightly expensive but a great belt buckle. I have a physical job and have had no problem with it holding my belt in place. Best of all no more skin irritation!
