Promist, Glimmerglass, Hollywood Blackmagic, etc -- diffusion filters are staples in the film industry, and Tiffen's Promist line is one of the most popular. I ordered the 1 strength, and it's a bit more stylized effect than you'll see with 1/4 or 1/8th; one that's better suited to retro looks in my opinion. I find it great for video but too strong for many photography applications -- especially outdoors in harsh lighting, where the effect becomes overwhelming.Something to bear in mind with these filters is that Promist diffuses the entire image, softening EVERYTHING, whereas something like Glimmerglass will only soften highlights, leaving contrast in the mids and shadows alone. Choose wisely, as I find Glimmerglass to be ideal for a modern look while Promist evokes a distinct vintage/filmic look (think Man in the High Castle, if you've seen that).Overall, if you know what you're purchasing, you won't be disappointed. Tiffen filters are fantastic and this is no exception.

Useful for landscapes but not for portraits.

Die Überschrift sagt alles. Hatte mir den Black Pro Mist 1 extra für den schönen milchigen Look bestellt. Lässt sich leider nicht vor die Linse schrauben, da der Filter kein Gewinde auf der Rückseite hat.Geht somit umgehend zurück, da unbrauchbar.
