Bad Moms [DVD]

Cute and Funny
I still can't figure out why the bad reviews keep mentioning the kids and how they were not in a lot of the scenes. Like this one:“The only scene I enjoyed in this film was the one in which Mila Kunis' character goes to the spa with her daughter. It was a genuine moment between the two, and was equally entertaining and touching. Therin lies the biggest problem with Bad Moms: it too often forgets about the children. When it focuses on the relationships between the struggling mothers and their kids, Bad Moms shines. However, instead it wastes time on partying and petty fighting while the audience is wondering: “who's taking care of the kids?”This movie was intended to be funny not be heartfelt and touching all the way through. It was not about the children as much as it was about moms being “bad moms” having a good time with friends and taking a break from such a tedious life running errands, working and tending to their children. It didn't waste time on partying or petty fighting and no one (except someone without a sense of humor) is thinking about “who is taking care of the kids?”Laugh a little and get over it.

Exhausted misandrist tropes with a lack of comedy or meaningful plot
In this world, all men are bad, spoiled brats, who have become entitled and are only successful because women do all the real work and take care of everything for them. Except for that one guy, who basically just exists to be objectified. Doesn't pass the reverse Bechdel test. Feminism is about hurting men and getting back at them for everything it is believed they as a class have done to women. The fact that anyone is arguing that the Bechdel test doesn't have a reverse and that this kind of crass, hateful portrayal of men is justified just drives the point home. It's time to evolve past petty victimhood melodramas and spite and move forward towards the unification of male and female agendas and real egalitarianism. This movie is a step in the wrong direction on all counts. The movie literally concludes with a woman subjugating and abusing a man who had done the exact same thing to her earlier in the movie. It's nothing but a fantasy of claiming victimhood as an excuse for hurting people.Perhaps political offenses could be ignored if there were anything good that could be said about this movie. I think the basic idea, that we are all just imperfect people doing our best in a world that makes it nearly impossible to feel like we are doing well, would have been a good one if it hadn't been so explicitly and repeatedly laid out that this only applies to women. Even then, the idea was presented in such a blase and predictable way that you spend the entire time wondering why they are spending so long getting to the point.Maybe if there had been some laughs along the way I could say it was diverting, at least. Unfortunately, the acting was painful, and the writing was so dull I doubt good acting could have redeemed it. It's not funny if it's the same boring stereotypes we have seen a thousand times doing the exact same things in the exact same ways, with nothing surprising or interesting to comment on.I'd say save your money, but hopefully, $4 is less valuable to you than the time you might waste and the bad memories you would need to purge after experiencing this. Save your soul, go watch something actually funny and uplifting. I'd suggest The Good Place, funny, good messages, good plot, everything this isn't.

You'll be dumber for wasting the time
Didn't expect prude but didn't expect such vulgarity. And I mean embarrassing to my intellect trash. These women are funny and could have delivered without speaking like hardened imprisoned gang bangers. Yes that offensive. Bikers and sailors would blush. What happened to clever writing and timed delivery?

Extremely funny! Don't listen to the bad reviews!
I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews! This movie is absolutely HILARIOUS! I'm not a mom, but if you are a mom, I'm sure you'll laugh even harder than I did. I think some people are too serious nowadays and movies like this aren't funny to them. Mila Kunis did a great job in this movie as being an over-worked and under appreciated mom and she changed her routine and it brought success! This movie IS worth your time. Just watch it and enjoy!

Surprisingly good. Fun and funny!
I would give it 5 stars but there were so many gratuitous F-bombs that it felt a bit like a carpet bombing. This movie demonstrates how a very simple premise can be made to work. Great casting, very good script and decent pacing are the keys. So many projects like this just turn out to be merely dumb, or brutishly crafted. This move definitely does not take itself too seriously. Mila Kunis is gorgeous and convincing and lovable in this movie. Her movie daughter gives a great turn as an angst-ridden soccer player that just needs her mom to get out of her way. The millennial workplace is a good counterpoint to the childish behavior these moms exhibit, while somehow also showing Mila's character's maturity. The dad is a total buffoon. He is an absolute caricature of a loser dad, but it works. The power of the PTA is so stupid that you just have to let it go. Its over the top, just like the tall, hunky soccer coach that feels emasculated by the PTA Nazi. Just let it go. And laugh. And enjoy. This is one of the rare gimmick-comedy movies that I will willingly watch again.

AD))) Audio Description is HORRIBLE!
I thought I would try this movie out after a recommendation, but I use Audio Description for the blind and visually impaired. This feature describes the scenes and character interactions if you are unaware. This "Bad Moms" movie on Prime Video uses an automated Text-To-Speech (TTS) description track. The TTS track talks over dialogue and sounds within the movie causing viewing to be horrible. In general, most content; i.e. movies, TV shows, documentaries, etc. use a real person to read and insert descriptions in order to avoid overlapping. If Amazon is headed towards automating their descriptions, they will need to indicate that on their detail pages. Great idea for older content, but poor execution of the process. I would rate lower if possible.

Laugh out loud and a little outrageous
I really enjoyed this film, it's an easy funny film to watch and serves as a good pick me up. It had me giggling out loud and I'm sure there are some mums out there that could relate to some of the characters and scenarios in the movie (me included!).

Don't bother if you are a man.
This movie is for women only, I made a mistake thinking it was a comedy generally speaking; it's not for a man.
