For the price you really can't go wrong with having a set of these laying around the shop. They make nice enough holes till they start getting dull. But that's expected and why buying another set doesn't break the bank. Give them a try. You won't be upset.

I read the negative reviews and took note. I have tested these punches and they have worked great. Clean precise holes in some surplus waterproof boot leather at 2mm thick. I have also used it on 8oz leather had the same results. I do use a backing board and often put a scrap leather underneath. For now they will be my go to punches. I always coat with beeswax before starting a punch run and often during the longer sides. The leather used on this coin wallet is 2mm thick leather that was originally used on Army boots. It is treated and 100% water proof. It is very tough and difficult to punch and cut. These irons did a nice job. I will use them until they fail and then probably buy more. If you hesitate due to negative reviews, I recommend getting them anyway and then posting your own review.

They punch decently. But one of the punch prongs broke off already though, under normal usage. Made the punch and when removing punch tool from the leather the prong pulled off the tool, and it cannot be reattached. And the prongs had been waxed for easy removal from the leather after the punch.

I purchased two other sets of lunch tools for making stitching holes,I should have purchased this set first, I don't even use the other tools,this set actually works, the other sets were a waste of money and time.
