LEGO Functions Power Functions IR TX 8885

I purchased this to use with an older technic lego set and it functions well and seemed brand new condition.

I bought one of these for my son who is building a motorized lego tank. It works well. The batteries have been changed since they have been installed, which was 1 and a half months ago. And the remote was in heavy use. NOTE: DO NOT BUY THIS ALONE. WITH THIS, YOU NEED THE IR RECEIVER TO USE THIS. AND ALSO, BUY SOMETHING TO CONNECT TO THE RECEIVER. WITHOUT THOSE, THIS WILL BE USLESS.

I got this as a gift for my nephew. He loves this kind of Lego stuff. What I didn’t realize that you need a second piece. I wish they only sold them together or I read closer about needing the second piece. But otherwise it’s great.

If you are planning on using it for a train set, buy the 8879 instead, this one does not have speed control and the train just go to maximum speed, which surely derails it on every corner. I did not do my homework and found out too late.There is a temporary solution in case you do not want to buy the other controller, mix charged batteries with blanks or use a couple already depleted.

Genuine lego ir remote. Basically an on/off remote no speed control.

I purchased this to use with the Mindstorms EV3 set. The remote included with the EV3 set feels cheep and flimsy compared to this remote.The only thing that this remote can't do is be used as an IR beacon (for the EV3), but all the other functions work as expected with the EV3 software.

The media could not be loaded. Lego is not cheap and LEGO on amazon can be especially expensive, but I love my remote control. It lets you do things like this (take a look at the video) with decent reach (ca. 12 ft) and efficient battery use.
