My kids love this Tonie Box character because of how many stories are on it. It’s a great collection of tales that the kids love listening to over and over again.

My 5 year old listened to this tonie for first time and declared he was too scared to sleep alone that night. However, the initial shock wore off and this is now his favorite. Particularly the first two stories, which are both read by Meg Ryan. The Red Riding Hood story is the one he feared at first and honestly I find it on the border of inappropriate in its sexual nuance but he doesn’t have a problem anymore scare wise. His true favorite though is Goldielocks and we listen to it so often I have it memorized (and beg him to put another one on). If you’d like to listen to the stories ahead of time, Tonies uses Rabbit Entertainment for their stories. Most read by celebrities in the 90s, and available on their website and Amazon as illustrated cartoons. They are easy to find.

These story telling Tonies are the best ones in my opinion. My daughter listens to them while she is having breakfast or after school snacks and it helps keep her focused on eating unlike cartoons which can be too much of a distraction. The stories are well written and have background sounds and music to enhance the experience. I hope they make more of these types of Tonies.

Not appropriate for a 3 year old. Not the classic little red riding hood. “ Took out his knife and carefully slit open the wolf’s stomach” is way too graphic for a 3 year old. Not sure if this would be appropriate for anyone under 13 at least.

Storyline is from 1800s, very graphic for toddlers which the Toniebox is geared towards. May give your child nightmares since there are sexual connotations and wolf gulps up the granny and red riding hood, then is cut open with a knife to retrieve them out (all accompanied by eerie sound effects). Same thing happens in the wolf + 7 goats story that is free on the Tonie app - why not the modern version where granny is thrown in the closet and red riding hood is saved at the last second?? there should be a warning at least. Waste of money since I definitely don’t want my children to listen to this on repeat.
